Have you noticed that when you are New at praying in tongues.
Your Natural mind(carnal) thoughts tell you to stop this nonsensical speaking?
 
I have not yet encountered an instance where so called ‘praying in tongues’ wasn’t nonsense. I’ve tried, but to no avail
 
I have never spoken in tongues, I admit. But the impression I am given is that people do it without even being aware of it occurring while praying .
If your purposely speaking weirdly and your mind is telling you to stop speaking nonsense, maybe your mind is telling you something. Don’t get me wrong, I encourage everyone to have spiritual gifts but not false gifts.

I can’t understand that experience.😊
Although I have one relative that went from the Baptist community to the Pentecostal one.
He says that he had periods in his life that he would fall, but through the practice of prayer in the tongues, he is held in fear of God and in faith.
He says it gives him strength. I never argued with him, but if it helps him , then I don’t know how I can argue.
