Have you (or have you witnessed anyone) spill the Precious Blood on the floor? Dribbled some on chin or clothes? What happened then?

I witnessed this one time. An EMHC gave Communion to an elderly person in their pew and someone passing by for Communion bumped into them. The EMHC didn’t notice that the Precious Blood had spilled and it didn’t seem like anyone else did either, so I went and told the priest after Mass. He went up front to where it happened right away to take care of it.

This brings back a terrible memory!

One day, while I was receiving the precious Blood, I spilled some on my shirt. The Eucharistic minister said only, “Don’t worry, you just get more blessing.” I wasn’t satisfied with the answer, but I felt pretty directionless about what I should do. So I washed the shirt in a tub of water and emptied it into the ground; it was the best that my suffering conscience could come up with. Looking back, I realize that I should have asked the priest about it, though.

I’m glad I found this post–the advice was very practical!
