He also said how can Jesus be one with god when he said he is gods son he also said Jesus was not put on the cross

Hebrews 10:12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,

Colossians 1:21 And you, who once were estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he [Jesus] has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable before him, 23 provided that you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven

1 Peter 1:18 You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

The crucifixion is clearly in the Bible, attested to in all of the gospels and explicitly in some epistles.

He doesn’t understand the basics of Trinitarian theology.

Islam does not use the Gospel that Christians use, but a Gospel in Arabic, attributed to saint Barnabas. The belief is that the Gospel used by Christians is corrupted.

This is what he said to me he said is Jesus god I said yes then he said if Jesus is god then how did he get resurrected because he died and u can’t resurrect yourself

I didn’t know he was referring to a different bible he said he doesn’t believe the writings of Paul he said Paul was a alcoholic and a liar

Muslims generally blame Saint Paul for corrupting Jesus’s teachings. There’s no basis for this.

Based on your understanding, do you think he makes a good argument?

No and he showed me a debate on his phone a Muslim against a catholic priest and the Muslim won I told him to watch videos where Catholics win and see what he thinks then he’s coming again next week to fix my curtains

He also said that Jesus was just a messenger I told him if Jesus was just a messenger then why did he die for our sins why didn’t god send the angel Gabriel to die for our sins Gabriel was also a messenger and then he said “because Gabriel was an angel” then I said then what does that make Jesus and then he said “a man just like all the other prophets” Then I said then why didn’t any of the other prophets die on the cross oh and I almost forgot he also told me that Jesus said In the bible that he only came for the sheep of Israel and not for the whole world and I pointed to parts in the bible where his disciples said he died for the world and he said “yes his disciples said that but not once does Jesus say he’s here for the whole world”

and he said “yes his disciples said that but not once does Jesus say he’s here for the whole world”
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.”

John 1:9 The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world knew him not. 11 He came to his own home, and his own people received him not. 12 But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God; 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Thank you for those bible verses I’ll point those out if he brings it up again next week x

My father is a human- how can I also be human when my father is human?

This is the faulty reasoning this Muslim is using. He doesn’t seem to believe that being someone’s son endows one with the same nature (human or divine) as their father/Father.

Ah, but you and your father are different beings, whereas the Father and Son are not. The muslim will interpret that response as implying polytheism.

Anyway, there are two ways in which Jesus is the Son of God. First, the title is messianic. Solomon was also a Son of God, as were other kings of Judah. Jesus, being a Davidic king, is a Son of God in this sense.

The other, of course, is the Trinitarian dimension, in which God is Triune, one being who is the three hypostases of Father and Son and Holy Spirit, in which the Father begets the Son and spirates the Holy Spirit, in which the Son is begotten by the Father and spirates the Spirit, and in which the Holy Spirit is spirated from the Father and the Son, all from eternity.

The title Son of God being tied up in messianic expectation be understood as foreshadowing and having its ultimate fulfillment in the true and eternal relationship of Son that the messiah would have with the Father, but this is only understood after the revelation has been given.

Gently suggest to your dear friend to read the New Testiment for himself and not rely on what somebody told him.

The majority of Muslims I know agree that the gospel of Barnabas is fake and a forgery, they’ll just say that the original “injel” (gospel) was corrupted and lost. Nowhere in official Islamic doctrine does it state that belief in the gospel of Barnabas is mandatory, not only for obvious historical flaws like saying Jesus was born during Pilate’s rule, but also because it contradicts Islamic doctrine. It denies that Jesus is Messiah (though it calls him Christ, yet doesn’t understand “christos” is the Greek title for “Messiah”) but the Koran very clearly states that he is. Contradicting what they believe to be God’s infallible word is already reason enough to call it fake, not to mention the several other flaws with the text.

He was full of knowledge when it came to the bible surprisingly and he’s not my friend I ordered custom made curtains from him he fitted them today

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Pay no mind to the mess on the floor it was cleaned after they left I just really love my curtains 😍😍

I believe there is some overlap between the Koran and the Bible, but for him to claim the Bible says Jesus didn’t die for our sins and didn’t rise from the dead shows he didn’t read all of the Bible.

“To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” There are a plethora of inconsistencies and contradictions with the Kiran then there are with the Bible and I would suggest they get their own home in order before they criticize or challenge ours. I am by no means a scholar, but whenever I am challenged by people who are attempting to discredit the Bible, I always remember the above word from Thomas Aquinas.
