You know, I’m honestly beginning to wonder if I’m not possessed or something. I mean, I left the Church again today and am now coming back. Its like an endless cycle for me. I will definitely be telling my confessor about this.
Holly-

You need to hold onto your faith in God dear, do not have faith in men. Do not listen to those who will draw you away from God, through them the devil is at work, trying to draw you away. And the closer you get to God the harder the devil will work on you to try and draw you away. The devil is no match for the Lord. When you start hearing those voices knocking at your door, just ask, :Jesus, would you get that for me please?" And I mean that “LITERALLY.”

Father, please watch over your child Holly, and give her strength in her need and desire to be with You. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Ditto!!!

(((((Holly))))) <----- hugs for you 🙂

Holly, go to adoration if you can and pray the Divine Mercy. The strength we gain from receiving Holy Communion and being in the Presence of Jesus in adoration is immeasurable.

Right before my confirmation I had a stormy bought of doubt - I truly believe it was the devil trying to steer me away from Christ and His Church!! I have never had them since.

My prayers!

Holly, you are in my prayers. I would also like to say, in my experience, my doubts about my faith in the CC in the past have always turned out to be a blessing from God. They always made me pray more, research more about what the CC truly teaches and I always come out feeling even stronger in my faith than I did before.
May God always be with you and may He always remind you, during prayer, that the CC is where He want’s you to be! He’s done it for me and I’m sure He will do it for you as long as you open your heart to Him!

Thank you everyone for your prayers and advice. I am still unfortunately having doubts about Catholicism though. I am starting in with a Catholic counselor today though so I hope that they can help me out with these persistent doubts I have.

🤷 How many times will you do this Holly? 🤷
Hopefully not anymore. Hopefully the Catholic counselor can help me get to the root of this problem. That is the main reason why I chose a Catholic counselor. Also, keep in mind that I’m not leaving the Church, I’m just having doubts.

The prayer that is answered is the prayer that does not give up…saints are sinners who dont give up. Dont give up, Holly!..We are all returning sinners striving to not give up - at times one wins, another time a loss - then repentance and a return to effort and striving…I will be keeping you in daily prayer …Barb:)

Hi everyone. I am having second thoughts about my decision to recommit myself to Catholicism. I need your prayers. Please pray for me. 😦
Now I am really confused. I just read on another thread where you asked people to prove to you that Mormonism is wrong. Now I read that you are wrestling with a decision to “recommit” to Catholicism?

Do you mean to say that there was a time when you were a committed Catholic, then left to become Mormon? Why would you think about becoming Catholic? From what I read in the other thread, you are thoroughly pursuaded about the truth of Mormonism…

I will pray for you.
Well everyone, I am back to Catholicism again after having left for a couple of days. I am really ashamed of myself for leaving. 😦 I left because my boyfriend told me that me being religious was driving him nuts. I think thats because I talked about it to him too much. So anyway I’m coming back and am simply going to not talk to him about religion. After all, St. Francis of Assisi said “Preach the gospel at all times. Use words when necessary.”
What does it mean to leave Catholicism “for a couple of days”?

What do the Mormons teach about Satan?

At the very least, your soul is the battleground for spiritual warfare, hence my question above about what you were taught on the nature and work of the evil one.

Holly, it’s likely very good news that you’ve decided to put your trust in a Roman Catholic counselor. I too read your post asking for proof against Mormonism - and saw that you quickly left that thread. Now I’ve checked your public profile and see that you are, in fact, a conservative Mormon. I’ll pray for you.

Holly, after reading a few more of your posts, I’m inclined to think that at some point you converted to the Roman Catholic faith. Is that a fact? (If so, you might want to update your profile.) Many converts face temptations against the faith. You’re not alone.

i think it was soren kierkegaard who said that a blind unquestioning faith without occasional doubt would not be worth having. that is, you need to have the occasional bout of second thoughts for your faith to deepen and grow.

I’m really praying for you. You must be very confused. I’ve seen the other thread where you are talking about being “Mormon”.

Father, enter the mind of this person and give them direction. Take the confusion away. AMEN
