It is interesting in many different ways why some things only seem to happen to certain groups, and the logic folks use to explain matters. St. Aphonsus Liguori once said, “Modern heretics make a mockery of wearing the Scapular, they decry it as so much trifling nonsense”. Yet, why do some things always seem to happen to this one group, or is someone trying to tell me something?
Blessed Pope Gregory X who died in 1276 and a great advocate of the Brown Scapular, was buried as were many saints wearing a brown scapular, 25 years after the vision to Simon Stock. When they opened his tomb 600 years later, while his bones and vestments were mere dust, why was the Brown Scapular fully intact? Is someone trying to tell me something, or am I just too smart for that type of non sense?
I don’t have to accept it either, yet when I examine some of the lives I find as powerful examples for me, I just have to wonder if someone is trying to tell me something?
Thank you Lord.
