I just recently received an article by a friend of mind who (knowing I usually forget things:o) wanted to help me out with some Bible verses. It was only later I realized the article came from an anti-Catholic website “Gotquestions.org

Now Im open to listen to anything that is Bible based but as you know solely depending on the Bible has it’s own set of problems.

My question is if we have the “mind” of Christ and that can also mean we should try to be “Calm, collected, sharp and focused” from another article (just to paraphrase words from this other article) which my friend gave me as a supplement which was to help me in my memory in particular.

I appreciate this very much but…

If we all try to have the mind of Christ, then shouldn’t we also strive to believe in the words that Jesus said? You know what Im getting at…I hope.

Your thoughts?

In 1 Corinthians 2:16, St. Paul is referring to the Church established by Jesus Christ. A good example is found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition, paragraph 389. “The Church, which has the mind of Christ, knows very well that we cannot tamper with the revelation of original sin without undermining the mystery of Christ.”

Another source of information is chapter 14, Gospel of John.

It is important to put any Scripture verse back into its context. A useful tool for checking a single Scripture verse is the Index of Citations, page 689, Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition.
