I asked a Priest (ICKSP) for advice on which study Bible he would recommend and he told me Haydock Douay-Rheims. The problem is I can’t seem to find one any place. I looked on amazon and the only kind they seem to have is a very large looking hard bound book going for more than $100.

Does anyone know where I can find one? Is there another version or study Bible you might recommend that is comparable?

Thanks in advance.🙂

I have an old Haydock Bible that was my grandmothers, and yes, it is very large. I had it rebound as the spine was cracking and the leather was dried out. Fortunately the binder was able to resew the bible and put the back cover and front back on ~ unfortunately the spine could not be saved.

However, I am looking for a daily reader, and found this:

tanbooks.benedictpress.com/index.php/Douay-Rheims-Bible-Black-Genuine-Leather

I’m not sure if there are any differences, I wouldn’t assume so. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will respond as well.

Check out this site. bibletidbits.blogspot.com/ Patrick Madrid from Catholic
answers live, recommends the two voluume set, A Catholic Commentary on Holy
Scripture. They’re about 30 dollars each.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I might be better off getting a copy of the regular Douay- Rheims and use the online commentary since there doesn’t seem to be a paperback, travel size version.

You are right about the Haydock not being pocket sized. It is very large because of the commentaries in it. It is a great study bible if you are from a protestant background and like that sort of thing I have a very nice smallish Baronius Press Douay-Rheims edition.
