He and his wife have always been pro-choice; recently, they were forced to make the Choice.

MY WIFE AND I just had an abortion. Two, actually. We walked into a doctor’s office in downtown Los Angeles with four thriving fetuses — two girls and two boys — and walked out an hour later with just the girls, whom we will name, if we’re lucky enough to keep them, Rosalind and Vivian. Rosalind is my mother’s name.

We didn’t want to. We didn’t mean to. We didn’t do anything wrong, which is to say, we did everything right. Four years ago, when Tina and I set out on this journey to have children, such a circumstance was unimaginable. And yet there I was, holding her hand, watching the ultrasound as a needle with potassium chloride found its mark, stopping the heart of one male fetus, then the other, hidden in my wife’s suffering belly.

We don’t feel guilty. We don’t feel ashamed. We’re not even really sad, because terminating these fetuses — at 15 weeks’ gestation — was a medical imperative. This has been a white-knuckle pregnancy from Day 1, and had it gone on as it was going, Tina’s health would have been in jeopardy, according to her doctor. The fact is, multiple pregnancies are high risk, and they can go bad very suddenly. I wasn’t going to allow that, though the fires of hell might beckon.

The article shows that in-vitro fertilization is where the error was made in the first place. This process created much of the mess with respect to life and God’s design that we have today. The Church was correct in opposing in-vitro fertilization from the beginning.

I will pray for you and your wife and family. That must have been an unimaginable heartache and decision. God bless you both and may you find comfort and peace soon.

Yep. This is one place where pro-lifers are sadly split. They see the evil of abortion. They see the evil of Embryonic Stem Cell Research (well most of them do…cough! cough! McCain doesn’t. cough! cough!). But, many turn the other way when IVF comes up.

This is a red letter day! You and I agree on something. I don’t know about you but I thought it would never happen.😃

This statement makes me sad and mad at the same time. These are people we are talking about, people who have died a horrible death, and they aren’t “even really sad”

This shows how far our world has gone, how many times do you think people would have said this before the wide spread murder of abortion came into play, about the death of their own children.

Lets pray for these parents and all like them that do not realize that their child has died and they don’t even mourn them.

And why this couple and their doctors are not charged with murder is totally beyond me.

How horribly sad.

I think he’s the one with the genetic “abnormality” it’s clearly shown in his twisted thought process. He sounds like a Nazi stating that he aborted his boys because they are more likely to have autism. “Genetic” abnormalties can only be inherited from the parents. That makes me SOOOOOOOO livid when I read about things like this. The whole article seems so insane its almost as if someone made it up. Like some pro-choicer sat down and said “I’ll write a scare piece about why abortion should be legal to make brainless nimwits come to our side.”
Or then he says maybe he should have aborted the girls because they might not have the opportunity when they grow up to have second or third trimester abortions? So let’s see–the basic freedoms the U.S. was founded on…the right to LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,–now somehow the chance NOT to have a second or third trimester abortion is so oppresive its better not to be born?
I think it is so sad that he has allowed his political views to so control his life that he flushed his precious children down the toilet and literally doesn’t feel anything about it. In fact, the only thing he can do is write a diatribe about anti-abortion forces and then even writes that he knows he’s going to hell? Are your political beliefs worth that?

Yeah, I think if the Church ever needed a “dumbed-down” example of precisely why it opposes invitro fertilization, yep, this would be it. The article is overwhelmingly ridiculous. He 1.) admits that they conceived via invitro, which runs the risk of multiple pregnancies. This had to be clear to him. 2.) When faced with the consequences of his own planned out action (it’s not as though they were naturally having quadruplets) he decides to kill two of them (gotta face those consequences responsibly, you know. Gotta “man up” and kill those babies. What, you think it would be more responsible to raise them?). 3.) Though he shows no sorrow for this and in fact self-righteously defends the murder of babies he intentionally created, he seeks sympathy from the reader and actually uses his experience as an “exhibit A” of why abortion should be allowed! The whole thing is so ridiculous from A to Z and yet I am sure if you spelled it out and talked veeerrrry slowly to him he would just return a blank Homer Simpson stare.

I almost forgot his laughable quote regarding being afraid to bring girls into this world b/c in essence they may not be able to have abortions like he and his wife did! Maybe he should have courageously aborted them to, to spare them the horror! My goodness how galactically dumb can you be!

I always wondered how regular Germans could have allowed their nation to become Nazi Germany. Now I know. Little by little.

EEKKKKK! No it’s not about me. Are you kiddin? 😦 Somebody vouch for me.
Thats what i thought, but you emphasized the words “MY WIFE AND I” and then somebody said, “I will pray for YOU”
Sorry about that!
