Please let us clarify all of this subject. Please give us the complete natures of: the rightious dead before Christ’s resurection, the damned, those who rose with Christ, and those in Pergetory.
Who are they, what are they, where are they. The "why’s " would be nice too.
You have my complete attention. Please let us clarify all of this subject. Please give us the complete natures of: the righteous dead before Christ’s resurrection, the damned, those who rose with Christ, and those in Purgatory.
Who are they, what are they, where are they. The "why’s " would be nice too.
OK

Let’s see what we can do with the space limitations necessarily imposed. PM me if you need more information.
The Righteous Dead, [early saints] were in a situation where they could not enter heaven, and yet deserved not to suffer. So God created a special place for them that the CC calls: ‘limbo’. Which means “on the edge of.”
Heaven had been blocked as One of the Effects of original sin. As we ALL share in this sin; we are all justly penalized for it. [God being Perfect, which is necessary in-order to be God] has so judged. Thus the absolute need for Baptism after the Incarnation, and Circumcision in OT times.
The truth of this become evident is the “gate” passage: Matt.7: 13-14 "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
- Narrow gate” [SINGULAR] implies many restrictions and mandates 2. Taking another route is easier and more pleasurable 3. Despite being available to ALL; MANY choose to take a different route. [Ending them in a different location]. So Christ is Redeemer to ALL; but Savior to only SOME.
So everyone who DID enter through the narrow gate B4 Christ was placed into this holding placed called Limbo. No pain, or suffering but incomplete JOY; because No Beatific Vision. [Seeing God “face 2 face.”]. Thus one of the chief effects of the Resurrection, was reopening the gate of heaven. Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Moses, David, the Prophets and all the other God-fearing folks attained heaven ONLY after Christ has “Ascended to the Father.”
What was true of heaven was not true about Hell. 4Ezra.7: 45 “Therefore no one will then be able to have mercy on him who has been condemned in the judgment, or to harm him who is victorious." 1Kgs.8: 32 “then hear thou in heaven, and act, and judge thy servants, condemning the guilty by bringing his conduct upon his own head, and vindicating the righteous by rewarding him according to his righteousness.” Jer.21: 14 “I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, says the Lord.”
Here was no reason; no cause to not inflict Eternal damnation of those who choose it as soon as they died.
Those chosen to rise with Christ were already in “Limo.” Now they were awarded there Glorified Bodies as a sing for us of “Future Glory.”
Purgatory requires a lot more space than I have left. It does have a biblical reference:
Rev. 21: 27 “But nothing unclean shall enter it, nor any one who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” **Mt. 5: 26 **truly, I say to you, you will never get out till you have paid the last penny.”
Briefly it can only be understood by recognizing How very Much God loves us and desires to be in a Personal relationship with us because HUMANITY ALONE can Know, love, Serve, and FREELY Choose to Thank God. **Isa.43: 7,21: **“every one who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made." AND the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.”
Sin has two sets of mandatory payback: restitution to the one harmed; and a Godly payback for saying NO! to God. Purgatory is instituted by God our of Love and desire to SAVE as many as WILL-to- BE saved. The secondary effects of sin must be removed in-order to be perfected as required to gain access to heaven. Rev. 21: 27 “But nothing unclean shall enter it, nor any one who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
Mt. 5: 26 truly, I say to you, you will never get out till you have paid the last penny.**Mt.5: 48 **“You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
Simply put Purgatory is where everyone who dies less than perfect BUT W/O unconfessed; unrepented Mortal sin will go to be made Perfect. The issue of Indulgences comes into play here but I’m out of space. PM me for more information.
God Bless,
