He must really hate sin

I was just thinking about how much God hates sin, to have such a punishment for sin, eternity suffering in fire.
 
no, ive just spent years abusing God’s mercy which is blasphemy of the holy spirit (resisting the truth) so I feel a little condemned.
 
Clearly He doesn’t hate it enough to abstain from creating people “in his image” who are perfectly capable and have an innate tendency to sin.
 
As someone once told me.

If we reject soap, we’ll never get clean.

Soap exists.
 
The Love of God is IMHO too much touted
in our generations(the past three), God HATES
sin BUT He Loves the sinner, there is a difference.
Satan condemns us, but God’s Spirit convicts us,
so that we will repent and humbly accept God’s
merciful pardon, bought at the price of Christ’s
shed blood. While we are LIVING, there is HOPE,
pray for perfect contrition for sins to God, who
is generous and will give us wisdom for salvation
thru faith in Jesus Christ! 2 Tim. 3:15

Sin wounds the Body of Christ, we the People of God.
God’s plan for Salvation includes our mission to transform the world into a unified People of God.

Soap is not all-powerful, all-loving and it sure as heck didn’t create me in its image
 
Easy there partner. This seems to be a common reaction from you.

The soap idea explains the idea of a sin that can’t be pardoned.

I should have laid it out more slowly.

I was responding to simonjosiah’s point originally…regarding what is sometimes called the unforgiveable sin "which is blasphemy of the holy spirit " (from simon’s post).

And the analogy to understand this scriptural point is “failure to believe in soap”…that is…we know we’re unclean, and yet we reject the action and power of the Holy Spirit (which is the only thing that can help us).

So if we reject the only thing that can help us come clean…we’re unforgiven.
 
God is love. I don’t think it’s possible for God to hate sin. Punishment due to sin is an action of His justice not due to hatred of sin.
 
God does hate sin. But He loves the sinner.

He hates sins because He knows it keeps us away from Him.
 
Many early Church fathers reckoned that the flames of Hell burst forth from within the damned. St. John Paul II concurs, saying that they “flow from the very nature of sin.” An impenitent sinner is not compatible with the presence of God, but God is the source of all good things. To be cast out from His presence is to be deprived of everything that we need.
 
This is actually a form of narcissim and pride, don’t you think? Like you think your sins are so uniquely awful and numerous that they’re greater than Gods mercy? Quit flattering yourself.
