I don’t think the Church would find anything wrong with this arrangement. However, I’m wondering if there would be a way to include the sister in the wedding itself. Just curious.

Sounds like she’ll be in a maid of honor type role.

I think it’s sweet, but the marriage itself will still only be between two people.

Well, it doesn’t say they are Catholic, so it may not be a problem. He is going to be her BFF, not her husband anyway. Some other churches might be will to include the gesture under the circumstances. So, even if they were Catholic, there might be a way to include the sister after the actual ceremony was finished.

He sounds like a great guy though.

When I first read the headline, I thought “who on earth would do that??”. But after reading the article and the circumstances, I think it was a very sweet and lovely gesture.
