I’ve had protein in my urine for the last 6 yearly physicals. This year, it’s very high, high enough my doc is alarmed. Protein in the urine can be an indicator of diabetes, kidney problems, and alot of other unpleasant stuff. 😦 Diabetes has been ruled out, so now, the really unpleasant stuff is suspect.

I haven’t prayed about it, been too busy praying for others and other things. I guess, to me, it feels selfish to pray for yourself, or something for yourself all the time. I’m working on that one.

Yesterday, I was going through my rosary/prayerbook, etc box. At the bottom, I found a St Benedict’s crucifix. Hmmm, I forgot, I had that. I hung it up on my desk lamp next to my computer. You know, I don’t know much about St. Benedict, so Google, I go.
St. Benedict is the patron saint of many things, however, one of things is kidney diseases.

Now, I’m wondering, how many times have I not seen, not paid attention to the message?

well I suppose the important thing is that you found it now!

The only thing I will say is:

Pray Pray Pray!!!

Go into overtime, see if you can make the prayer last the entire day - that is, say maybe only a line at a time, but really focus on it. You may well be busy, but if you can say a line, think about it, get on with something (work or whatever) then revisit it at say lunch or whatever, then say the next section. Make it last. Make it powerful. Make it multiply.

Pray

Pray

Pray!!!

To Asia53 - As a Benedictine Oblate since 1962, I have found St Benedict a most powerful intercessor. Know that I and my wife of 43 years, who is also a Benedictine Oblate, will keep you in our daily prayers.

Hi Asia. I will keep you in my prayers, too. And I just wanted to say that… sure, it’s ok for us to pray for ourselves (in addition to praying for others). Include your own needs in your prayers each day. In this way… you’re saying to Our Lord… “I need You, Lord”. Acknowledging our need for Him is a good thing. God bless, and please keep us posted on your health. 🙂

P.S. I love St. Benedict too. We keep a large St. Benedict medal on one wall of our home. He’s a powerful intercessor.
