He rose 'again'?

In the Apostles’ creed and also the Nicene Creed, the prayer states:
"…He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose “again”. He ascended to Heaven etc.

My question is, how is it he rose ‘again’? When was the first time he arose? He descended to the dead only one time…

Hi,

We get this one often. It’s an idiom. When we say that he fell down and then got up again, we don’t mean that he got up twice. Same thing!
