(Luke 10:16) He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.

Again, who does Jesus Christ refer this to, “He that heareth you, heareth me”…?

Was Jesus referring to King Herod, or Pontius Pilot, or perhaps You and Me? No, none of theses nor You or I, that Jesus Christ was referring this to. Why? Because “He that heareth you, heareth me”… Jesus Christ was ONLY referring to His Apostles and to no one else, only to those He left his Church in charged with to guide us ALL. Amen

Yes, Yes we are the Church, but then again there is a CHURCH an Institution a House of God were we can visit The Eucharist guided by Jesus Christ the Corner Stone who he left his Apostles in charge on down to their Successors a House of God, Like a court building where there is a Rule given that we all must follow for the salvation of our Lives or be put in Jail/hell. Here is something far better than a court building, and that is the Catholic Church. AMEN This Church building can be liken to Noahs Ark, those in it found safety from the flood this what Jesus Christ wants us all to have in the Institution of His Catholic Church and be Obedient to it.

First Jesus Christ to the Apostles, then the Apostles by the laying on of hands to their Successors then to their Successors by the laying on of hands to their successors, so on and so forth for over 2000 years and counting for the Gates of Hell cannot prevail against it. Amen.

If ever this line of successors been broken then the gates of Hell did prevail, now who is one to believe in Jesus, or the Devil, regarding His One Church broken or never broken? Satan wants many people to believe that it has been broken and if You do believe, that the First Church has been won over by Satan then you sub-consciously believe that Jesus Christ Lied about His One Church never to be prevailed by hell. You make Jesus Christ a liar regarding this Truth!

I believe in Jesus Christ. Who do You believe?

The Point is we Must herareth the Apostles, the point is we Must heareth their Successors so on and so forth to this very day and time of our lives, if we Don’t there is Luke 10: 16 for YOU and Me

OK here’s your chance ufamtobie. Convert me. Make me a believer. Call me Thomas and show me the succession. Hand to head from either beginning to end or end to beginning, which ever you are most comfortable with.

Mike, it is you who has to show me the “Proof” that there is no SUCCESSION

But yes, I do want to convert you because you are my brother in Christ.

Yes even Thomas came to be a believer later maybe you can to.

Wow that’s an interesting way of avoiding the question. Why do I need to prove that there is no SUCCESSION? Remember, I am not a member of the Roman Church and am not well versed in hand to head succession from Peter to Benedict. So since you assert that there is, and I assert that I have no knowledge of said fact since clearly this would not be in my catechism or in my church history book, the burden of teaching is on you and I am quite certain that this would have been in your church history book.

Ufamtobie,
Don’t the Orthodox claim an unbroken line of succession, as well?

The early Lutheran reformers also believed that AS was important. Lutherans generally do not dispute the importance of this Tradition, but view it in terms of a human tradition - important! absolutely! But human. Anglicans, as well, have sought to maintain succession, as have Scandinavian Lutherans, Old Catholic, PNCC, etc.

Jon, do the Orthodox have the Pope for their Leader?

Jon, do the Lutherans have the Pope for their Leader?

If not, then the Orthodox claim is false, as well as the Lutherans Claim is false.

Since creation there was always a leader to guide the Lords people and that has not change the Pope is the Leader now guided by the Holy Spirit.

Jon, If I were a priest and left the Catholic Church and started my own church, what should I call it, let see, oh, “The true church of God.” Sounds good sounds powerful, right? Wrong! That means I have left the line of succession and now am on my own gathering people away from the True Church. Then in time, I come before Jesus Christ, what would He tell me? Jesus would say to me, why did you not put Trust in My One and Only Church, you have abandoned the Pope you have abandoned the Sacraments You have abandoned me by not following my Teachings that the gates of hell will not prevail over My Church. Jon, How would I then feel:(

It was my understanding that the Catholic Church recognized Orthodox orders and succession, and to my knowledge there is no Catholic denial of the validity of succession of Lutherans in Scandinavia. You are the first I have seen post Orthodoxy lacks valid succession

Certainly he is the western patriarch, as stated by the early councils.

We have a different definition of “Church”. I think, though, that all efforts should be made to bring about unity, and if that unity were headquartered in Rome, I would have no qualms about that. And I believe that apostolic succession is important and desirable, but here is the point; without even discussing scripture, the early Church and councils never vested in the Pope, as important as he is, the power of universal jurisdiction, and infallibility in matters of faith and morals when speaking ex cathedra. You get the Orthodox to agree with that, I would consider it such an undeniable movement of the Holy Spirit in His Church that I would sign up for RCIA the next day. Until then claims are just claims.

Jon, why must you wait until the Orthodox, are not you your own man to Trust the Holy Spirit now to “sign for the RCIA.” Believe and Trust in Jesus Christ, not man. Must you see and feel the wounds of Christ before you believe in His One Church?

Jon, the Orthodox Church is jealous regarding Catholic Church and once they get over this Jealousy, yes Jealousy they will come back Home.

Good day, my friend,
Let me be clear, I am not waiting for the Orthodox! What I mean is I am open enough to recognize that if Rome/Orthodox unity were to happen, I consider it irresistable evidence of the movement of the Holy Spirit. I see that evidence between our two communions, in small yet clear steps.

I’ll let the Orthodox comment on the jealousy claim.

Jon, then what are you waiting for in order to Join your Church, yes your Church aka Catholic Church.

Jon, Why can you not consider this “irresistable evidence” that the Holy Spirit, is moving You, now, into the Catholic Church while it is still daylight. Forget about other churches in what they do, you must look after yourself your body and soul.

Jon, its not the matter of being if, but when you come Home, You are going to be one strong, faithful Catholic, the sooner the better:👍
