“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me” Psalm 66:18
**Come and listen, all you who fear God; **
let me tell you what he has done for me.

**I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue.

If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;

but God has surely listened
and heard my voice in prayer.

Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld his love from me!**

You know like:
Romans 8:29-30
29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined {to become} conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. ---- This is God’s view of the redeemed and saved in Christ.

Php 1:6
{For I am} confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. — This is God’s view of Salvation in mans little time box.

Galatians 3:13-14
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us–for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE”-- 14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. — What is the curse of the law? Sin. What are we saved from? Sin. Who are the redeemed? Christian or non-Christian? Who are the saved in Christ? Christian or non-Christian? What is the major difference between redemption and Salvation from God’s perspective?

Do you know what the Promise of the Spirit is that Paul is referring?

If you have any doubts remaining, which I am positive you do, just as it is written.
Philippians 1:27-30
27 Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; 28 in no way alarmed by {your} opponents–which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that {too,} from God. 29 For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, 30 experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear {to be} in me.

AND

Eph 4:30
Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

AND

Ephesians 1:5-9
In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He lavished on us. ***In all wisdom and insight 9 He made known to us the mystery of His will, ***according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him

Until one is able to 100% deny self; their will be no salvation for those that are unable because of stubborn pride in self.
**Until one is able to endure to the end of his life, there will be no salvation, period. You won’t be 100% certain until you die. **

We can have a moral certitude about our salvation of the promises of Christ - provided we remain in his friendship - otherwise we will be cut off (Romans 11:22). Remember that a true believer in Christ - one who has been justified - can return to their sinful ways just as "A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud" (2 Peter 2:20-22).

John 15:1-8 tells us emphatically that Jesus is the vine and those branches that do not bear fruit and remain in him will be cut off and thrown into the fire and burned. Even Jesus uses the word IF:

**"IF you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you."

Saving grace is something only God can do.
Enduring with the help of the Holy Spirit is something we must do.
You keep posting passages about redemption as if you think it means salvation. It does NOT.

,Tweety, many of us miss the Truth of it all, there are all kinds of reasons for it, it would really be a miracle, I suppose,if we were all in the same place of growth and maturity at the same time, we pray and keep hoping for unity.
I just don't think it is wise to lean on our own understanding, we in the Church are especially blessed though. We have Sacred Tradition, Scripture and the Magisterium guided by the Holy Spirit, together not each standing alone to teach and guide us into all Truth,,:harp::heaven:Blessed New Year to all. :)Carlan

And rejecting the Scriptures - as you have done - is a mockery to God.

The Scriptures themselves tell us (as I have pointed out, ad nauseam) that you do NOT have a guarantee of salvation UNLESS you endure to the end of your life.
My favorite scripture:
2 Tim 4:6-8**
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith**. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

Thank you G and G, and Amen.

I would like to share mine for the New Year,
Luke 24, 13 and… On the road to Emmaus,

In our daily walk on the road of life, Jesus is with us to teach us.Do we recognize Him?
It was only after the disciples invited Him in after arriving at their place that they recognised him in the Breaking of the Bread. We must invite him into our lives daily:)Carlan

2 Peter 2:20-22
For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

A person who loses his salvation after he has received it is worse off than if he had never received salvation in the first place. What happens to unbelievers?

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9
when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction

Salvation is a life-long process, not a one-time event.

1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

If you allow yourself to be devoured by Satan after you are saved, then you are no longer saved. You belong to him instead.
Keep on denying the sufficiency of the cross and the sealing of the Spirit.
None of this denies the sufficiency of the cross, Tim. The fact that the purification of our souls continues from the moment of grace entering until we are completed in Him results from the Cross.

It is not head knowledge of sin the apostle speaks of here, but experiential (relational) knowedge of Christ that saves. No one can escape defilement through “head knowledge” or just being able to identify sin. We escape defilement of the world by being filled with the HS, and walking in the resurrection power of Christ. This can only happen when one is united to Christ (experiential knowledge).

Code:
A Christian by virtue of the fuel source, will endure, which is why the notion of falling away or losing a salvation makes a mockery of Jesus because of His completed redemptive/salvivic work on the cross. This paradox should be one that is easily understood by the Christian in my opinion unless they are newborns.
It is true that a person can only endure by virtue of the fuel Source. However, a person needs to be filled by that HS, and walk in obedience. This is the point Jesus was trying to make with the maidens and the oil lamps. Itis possible to be disconnected from the fuel source, run out of oil, and not be ready for teh wedding feast. The fuel is there, but it is up to us to access it. He is the vine, and we are the branches. If we remain in Him, we will bear much fruit. If we do not remain in Him, we will lose our saltiness, and our end is near to being burned. We may be cut off, fall from grace, experience a shipwreck of faith, be disqualified, or have our names removed from the book of life. None of these outcomes results from a deficient fuel source.

So how can one that walks away in “unbelief”, an apostate for example, be called a Christian who fell away? According to your statement above, that is not the case, which of course it is not the case. Unbelief is why anyone exposed to the gospel and rejects it and will go to hell.
It is true that those who are exposed to the Gospel and reject it are condemned already. However, those that embrace the Gospel, and escape from the defilements of the world by becoming united wth Christ, then turn in unbelief will also fail to be united with the inheritance that it kept in heaven for them.

“Apostate” means to “fall away from”. One cannot fall away from something to which one has never become attachted/clung to.
**We should rename this thread “The Christian - one whom endures to the end!” **
It would be a misnomer, because not all Christians do endure to the end. According to Jesus’ teaching on the seeds, only one third of those who receive the Gospel with joy actually endure to the end. This is consistent with His teaching about the narrow way that is not found by many.

Do you know what it means to be sealed?
YES!!! And I have been sealed with the Holy Spirit!
I was sealed with the Holy Spirit and anointed with the oil of chrism at the Sacrament of Confirmation when I received the power of the Holy Spirit. It is THAT important! We mark it with oil AND with a Sacrament!

Have you been sealed with the Holy Spirit?

I was baptized and confirmed in the CC. My sealing didn’t occur until I was 29 years old and repented of my sinful life, asked Christ to save me from the wrath I deserved.

Rocket mine did not occur until I was 38, praise be to God.

And in all these guan, it is the fire within that keeps burning that gives us our endurance. “Because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us”. (Romans 5:4)

Was Paul confident of His salvation before His death? How about the others who longed for His appearing?
