Healing for my Mom

Hi everyone,

I sent this prayer request to my pastor, and wanted to ask those of you on CAF to pray for me and my family in the same intention. But here is what I asked my pastor to pray for:

I" have been occasionally feeling very horrible, because I have said and done things that have hurt my mom. When I look back, and imagine myself in her position, I feel horrid. I wouldn’t want done to me, what I had done to her. I viewed her in my mind as something evil, and at one point I had even prayed that my Mom and Dad would die. I called my Mom a witch, a sadist, an addict, among all kinds of other things I said and thought about her. And I feel horrible about it all because I caused her a great deal of suffering and pain. I wanted to ask you to pray for her healing, and that I might be able to repair the damage I had done to her, and to our relationship. But please pray for her healing. In addition to mental, emotional, and spiritual pain, she has almost constant physical pain, from severe neuropathy and from a recent shoulder surgery. But please pray for her, for my Dad, and for my brother as well."

Thank you for all your prayers. I am going through some emotional turmoil and feeling horrible about things I have said or done, especially in regards to family.

Prayer for Healing

Lord, look upon invisiblewitnes’ mom with eyes of mercy. May Your healing hand rest upon her, may Your life-giving powers flow into every cell of her body and into the depths of soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring her physical and mental health, and alleviating her excruciating pain. May she be restored to wholeness and strength for service in Your Kingdom. We thank you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for Family

Heavenly Father, please shine your light upon invisiblewitnes’ family. Give them strength to overcome all of the difficulties that they have dealt with them and protect them against any and all problems they may encounter in the future. O Lord, please bring them together as they are meant to be. May the love that binds them grow stronger as they fulfill the destiny you have laid out for us. Grant this family forgiveness for the sins they have committed. May they also forgive one another Lord, as it is sometimes difficult to do.

Through Christ Our Lord, amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

May St. Monica, another suffering mother, pray for this woman.

On a personal note, I feel your pain. I’ve struggled with pain I’ve caused others as well. May God also grant you healing and I pray that you and your mother will be reconciled to love and happiness.

You are not alone. When growing up I didn’t like my mom so much, she was very demanding and bossy. I didn’t realize that she was wanting only the best for me, I thought she was wanting the best for herself. So, I said and thought some pretty nasty stuff about her. Finally, I understood. Maybe it was having my own family. Maybe it was the good Lord letting something gel in my brain… I said sorry more through my actions than anything and she forgave me. We were best friends until she died in 2013. She said sorry to me over and over for little slights I might mention in jest. Your mom probably understands. She was a kid once, too! Give her a chance.

I’m praying for you and your mom.
