has anybody got any background on this organisation - does the Catholic Church think they are ok?
 
Can you give us a little more background or detail? I ve never herad of this…Thanks
 
Never heard of it. So, I “Googled” it. I found this website. Take a look at their “Statement of Faith”. They say that they believe in the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit <statement #6>? While the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit (CCC 1831).

One discrepancy. That was what I found, with just a quick scan. Maybe some of you will have a bit more time to research this? But even ONE discrepancy is too much for me.

From the Scripture (KJV) “For the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, meekness, goodness, temperance, faith, against such there is no law.” Gal 5:22 - that is one all of us good little Evangelical kids had memorized, it was even a song.

This group is another Protestant denomination of the Pentecostal tradition. Not a Catholic group.

Thank you, “kage_ar” for clarifying. Being a “Cradle Catholic”… I did remember “7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit”… and double checked with the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

This “ministry” sounded decidedly “un-Catholic” to me, as well. Also… do you have any idea… what is with the sword, laying on the table? 🤷 Some type of symbolism, obviously… but I didn’t understand what it could be for.

Sorry for appearing lazy - when i typed the original post i thought that they were quite a well known organisation but obviously not. The reason for raising the subject is that i know a lady who is a strong Catholic who actually promotes the Healing Rooms. However, when i looked at the website I thought they sounded a bit strange.

Sounds Pentecostal, or potentially Assemblies of God. On the main page you get offered the possibility to be “equipped to do the same things that Jesus did when He walked on the earth” :eek:
