I was wondering if any of you had some good stories to tell about the Sacraments that you would like to share. Stories of when one of the Sacraments helped you in some special way, made you see something in a new and different light maybe, or healed you of a illness or a sin that kept creeping back into your life.

I think sharing these stories would be encouraging for others to read, and possibly motivate some who are thinking about joining the Church to make a move in the right direction.

So, send in your stories! Whether they be serious, funny, or anything in-between. Thanks.

Scout,

I’ve seen cases where the Anointing of the Sick (which deacon’s can’t do, but for which I was present) has cured the individual. From my own experience, I can tell you that the grace of ordination makes possible my service as a deacon. Without it, I’d have quit a long time ago.

it is amazing to me that in over 50 years as a Catholic I never heard about (or it did not sink in) healing through the Eucharist. Then recently I got the same message from 3 sources, a deacon giving a catechist’s retreat, a sister giving a talk on family healing through the Eucharist, and a priest in confession. You can bring your hurt, pain and sin, or your family’s (current or past) or corporate need for healing before Jesus at the consecration, asking him for healing, receive the sacrament in that spirit. the results are phenomenal, although subtle, not dramatic. I cannot describe it, but it really happens. If someone knows more about this and can explain it better, please add to what I have said.
