How many people are you covering with that? What’s your deductible? What’s your deductible on prescription drugs?
Don’t really know, I normally don’t go to doctors unless I’m really sick.

There are sunrises, coffee, TV, flowers, etc. etc. etc. Too much good in the world to pass up.
I don’t own a TV, I can’t afford coffee. I sold every DVD/book/electronic doodad I could to pay for bills and to cut costs. My laptop comes from work, which I will likely have to return soon as it appears my contract will be terminated. Since I was contract, there is no unemployment, no severance, no nothing. Same with my cellphone.

Edit: Oh, and I’m allergic as heck to just about any kind of pollen bearing plant. Flowers make me so ill I can develop bronchitis.

Lucky, but we’re not you. Some of us are sick, sick from birth. I did nothing to deserve the disorders I have, unless you want to say it was the sin of my parents or something. Doctors wanted them to abort.

My insurance offer, the latest, was $800 a month, with a $10000 deductible and $5000 deductible on drugs. THat means $24,000 a yea before I get much benefit out of my insurance. That’s over 70% of my income, before taxes/rent/other bills and that’s only because it’s a plan the government forces an insurance company at gunpoint to offer in return for doing business in the state.

If it wasn’t for the government and its gun held to the insurance company, they wouldn’t even offer me THAT.

I was under the impression that Pathia would be eligible for some form of medical aid if she was declared disabled, and I believe she mentioned elsewhere that she could be so declared.

I thought that getting medical aid like that would be tied to getting early Social Security because that seems to be the way it is in my state. One of my neighbors gets SSS and medical due to a disability.
It’s complicated. I am disabled according to one part of government, but not disabled according to another part. I collect disability retirement from the county I used to work for, yet the federal government says I’m not disabled. I’ve been through the system and I’ve talked to a lot of people. Generally what happens is that people are automatically denied Social Security twice. That’s just the way it is. The third time is the one that is important but people get an attorney at this point. If they do get accepted, Social Security is supposed to pay them all the way back to when they first submitted a claim. For me that would mean fifteen years of back payments. The attorney takes a large percentage (I’m not sure what it is but I’m guessing 30%). It’s a gold mine for attorneys and it’s not such a bad deal for people who need Social Security and Medicare either. Even if they give up 30% of back payments they are still given Medicare and are paid from when they are accepted and they still have about 70% of their back payments.

I was on Social Security a long time ago and I was accepted the first time but I believe that is very rare. I think the reason I was accepted was that I was in a psych hospital (I had witnessed a tragedy and was pregnant and a mess). There is something about that psychiatric diagnosis that seems to be the key to getting benefits.

I’ve heard such horror stories about people so obviously sick and being turned down by their own government. It makes me ill.

Being disabled doesn’t necessarily grant you medicaid/care. It’s usually defined as having child dependents. As I’m childless, I could be homeless, and missing a limb and still denied medicaid/care

Are you goading Pathia? That is so inappropriate. Coffee, TV, etc. Yeah they are great. What if you HURT!! Have you ever been in pain so bad that all you can do is writhe on the bed and beg God to kill you?

I don’t think you understand that people like Pathia are in PAIN. Can you comprehend that? BTW, the word is LEECH, not LEACH.

How wonderful life must be for you! You don’t care about money, you never really go to the doctor unless you get very ill, you love flowers and coffee and sunrises. Wow. You are insulting Pathia and every other person who is in this forum, whether they are posting or not.

I have never seen such an un-Christian attitude in anyone else. And I have definitely seen some un-Christian attitudes. But you win the prize.

Post 2500 😃
You are involved in a debate here. The only importance of your post number is what you think about it. Nobody here cares about your post number yet you take time out of a serious discussion with a suffering person to boast about it.

This is so inappropriate. I am just shocked at your callousness and rudeness.

The same government which is taking the money, I would have normally been able to give to charity, and is giving that money to people who are neither needy or deserving.

I don’t want my money going to big defense contractors. That doesn’t change the fact that people are screwed over to the point of poverty and decreased lifespan. It is unjust.

Can you answer my question which was similar to Pathia’s question? How many dependents are on your plan? You surely must know. That is something everyone should know. What if your daughter became ill? Are you going to tell the physician that you don’t know if she’s covered under your insurance? What if your son ends up in the ER? I don’t think they would like it if you told them you didn’t know if he was covered by your health insurance.

Can you at least answer the questions that have been put to you? It would be nice to get an honest answer from someone who doesn’t slack off and ignore the small stuff.

Lighten up; you may not agree with his viewpoints, but to attack him b/c he made a comment about his post # is just grabbing at straws on your part.

Maybe he is so into business he forgot his family?

The attitudes towards/about transsexuals lags about 10-15years or so behind attitudes towards/about gay/lesbians. It doesn’t matter that I have an intersex history, I have a T stamped on my forehead and in my medical records, they don’t give a damn about anything else.
You need to invest in a tape recorder so the next time you are told they have to find a doctor willing to treat you, you can sue and have the local hospital renamed the Pathia Regional Medical Center. I’m being serious here.

Call 1-880 CALLSAM Sam Bernstein would take this case up in a heart beat. And if you loose there is no fee whatsoever.

If Doctors did their medicine correct all the time like they are supposed to then we wouldnt need them.
Couldn’t disagree with you more. Medicine is an art, not an exact science. Why do you think doctors “practice” medicine? It would be impossible to perform everything correct all of the time; they are human and incapable of being perfect.

Most malpractice is a result of quackery, bad attitudes or not paying attention to the patient. I have a quarter centruy of story from a grandmother who was a nurse on the intermediate floor of a local hospital. Practicing correct medicine in most cases is not that tough to know what to do with most cases.
