Do friars such as Franciscans have Health Insurance at all?
I also know that part of the application is to have dental record, how crucial is this?

Thanks!

I don’t know specifically about the Franciscan friars but I know that most religious communities have some sort of health insurance plan that is usually donated to them. Most require that the postulant pay for their health insurance the first year through a donation that they make when they enter. The reason for this is because it takes 12 months for most insurances to pick up new members. I don’t know about the dental record. I know dental is covered by most health insurance plans. Hope this helps. I hope someone else can answer this better for you:)

Put yourself in the community’s shoes.

What if something were to happen–and they didn’t have your records?

You could be treated incorrectly. If they didn’t have the records, the attending physician/dentist could do something that would literally kill you.

Think about it.

It’s all about you, and helping you on your way to God.

HTH.

Blessings,
Cloisters

Depending on the community… Most have health insurance of some kind. It may be a Diocesean Plan or it may be a more traditional plan or they may be totally dependant on Benefactors Donated Services.

If its on the application it is crucial. A complete health history is normally required for most applicants… If you have some reason to have not been to the dentist… For instance if its cost of care? there may be options to find low cost dental care]…If you have questions and are at the point of actually contacting a specific community??? I would suggest you contact the vocations director for help …

Thanks!

Thanks for all your suggestions.
After few visits to different communities, I got more information for my question.
