Healthcare Bill doesn't cover Abortion. We been lied too

It really is that vague. I called my congressman to ask what the bill actually meant and how it affected people immediately. He told me that nobody knows for sure yet.

Each side will interpret it their way… so abortions will likely continue…Mr. President signed the rider that said life of the mother… define life for me… now define life by the standards used by Planned Parenthood… Which one do you think the President meant?

I find it very difficult to tolerate your ideas, but read them anyway and try to see where you are coming from.

However, I was recently warned by a moderator when I told a poster I was sorry they had a learning disability I refer to as liberalism. And I was not being nasty, I was sincerely sorry that I could not continue to discuss ideas with them because they refused to test their strongly held opinions against logic or consider unintended consequences. However, I was wrong to tell them I was sorry to tell them they had a learning disability and will do my best not to do it again.

You calling someone nuts, is probably against the same rules and if there were a way to cite your post to the moderator, I would.

I also, when I defined lilberalism as a learning disability pointed out that the end product of a discussion with a liberal ends up more often than not with the conservative calling someone a name at the point that the logic overwhelms their feelings.

Maybe calling it a learning disability (my son has severe dyslexia, so I certainly don’t consider an LD as an indication of poor judgement, a self imposed flaw or anything else of the sort) may have offended someone and I am sorry it was taken than way, but I think you continue to prove my thesis has some validity.

Just to stay out of trouble, if you are not able to test your opinions under the criteria of logic and the learnings of history, then I am sorry for you, whether it is a learning disability or now.

Anway, as I understand it, Obama shielded from the press, signed an EO which is supposed to require every plan in the exchange, to offer an option that excludes abortion coverage, and plans that include it, are supposed to charge something higher for coverage that includes it. I don’t know how the insurance companies are going to keep that money separate. Even if they can, do you suppose that the the abortioners will be denied coverage when that little lock box is used up?

I remember a time when we were told the SS system was a lock box, and couldn’t be raided for general funds.

On top of which and EO cannnot overcome the law of the land, and nothing in the EO which I read, says anything about the right of a provider to concientiously object to abortions.

I doubt that the companies will keep the money separate. They don’t now, so I doubt they would start just because of the new bill. Most major insurance companies have policies that allow for abortion. Though as you say they tend to be more expensive so most companies don’t opt for those particular policies. Well at least none of the places I’ve worked but it may be more common than what I think. Also if the private insurance companies wish to use premiums to pay for these procedures then they can avoid government intervention all together. Which they could do all along anyway.

I have been trying to find out what it means. Do they have access right now? Or sometime in the future, I really don’t know.

Like most legislation that gets through in Washington, parts of the bill will take some time before it kicks into effect, but there are other aspects of the bill that are immediate, like tax credits for small businesses. However, bottom line is, it will take effect and that is a certainty.

I believe he answered that question when he stated, “…it is above my pay grade.” I still do not know what that means.

My customers are all small businesses, the consensus on our last conference call is that this bill created much more uncertainty on the economy. Not 1 of the many dealerships I have as customers are going to hire because of this.

The consensus is that there may be a slight sugar rush in the economy, but it is going to get worse before it gets better. There is a very cautious wait and see attitude, save, keep costs down.

Simply put, nobody knows how the bill will end up and how it will affect them.

What does this have to do with a pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia bill literally shoved down the people’s throats?

If anyone calling himself Christian is happy that our tax dollars will be robbed to kill babies and the elderly, he needs to redefine his terms. This bill is nothing but evil.

Read the law very carefully for yourself.

HR 3590 Section 1303

When you read it, please pay particular attention to subsection (a) paragraph (1)(b)(i) and (ii).

As a matter of a fact, read that subsection first…because paragraph (1)(b)(i) is referred to throughout the rest of the section…and if you don’t catch the context, you may miss what the verbiage is actually saying.

Now, since you’ve read it for yourself, here’s my take:

As long as the Hyde Amendment is included in the HHS appropriations bill each year, the government is required to segregate the federal assistance credits from the premium dollars paid in by subscribers. Premium dollars that are paid by subscribers can be used for everything, including abortion, but federal credits can only be used for everything except abortion.

That’s called a little accounting trick to keep the government’s hands pure.

If, one year, the Hyde Amendment language is not included in the HHS appropriations bill, then they don’t even have to play the money segregation game.
