Hearing a voice about future spouse

A lot of people tell stories about hearing a voice or something similar saying so and so will be their future spouse. And then when they are married the other spouse heard a voice too. I was just wondering if anyone ever had the experience of hearing a voice or something, but they didn’t end up marrying the person and it wasn’t the Holy Spirit after all. I just am curious if that can happen too. I mean not just that you were attached to someone and they didn’t end up being the one, but an actual locution that ended up not being from God.

Both of my parents experienced God telling them to marry each other.

No one should make important life decisions based solely on private revelation. Private revelations should be one of many factors not the only factor.

Also, God does not give everyone private revelations about a future spouse.

Cool. I agree completely that’s why I thought I would ask…I mean because if there was a false revelation it could cause problems. But it is nice to have validation from true ones too.

My husband told me after we were married that when he first saw me in church, he heard a voice telling him “She will be your wife”. I was 12 at the time and didnt meet him till 6 years later. then we dated for 3 years. I was in nurses training while we were dating and wasn`t sure if I should go on to med school or even thought of going to a convent to become a nursing nun. However, I had a dream that I was in the vestibule of our same church and was hesitating when I felt a little shove and noticed wings behind me pushing me down the aisle. so I took it to mean I was to be married in our church. We have been married for 52 years!!!
We were both born on Feb.12 on a Sunday at 9pm six years apart and we were married on our BDs on a Sunday with special dispensation to be allowed to marry on Sunday. So I think the marriage was a bit pre-ordained.

So far no spouse but I did hear a voice in church telling me I would meet my future husband that summer (this was Easter Vigil 2012 I got the message)and that summer I did meet a guy who fits all my requirements and falling deeper for. However we haven’t dated yet though are friends (and he is becoming more drawn to me so who knows). I don’t know it was God either, I suspected it was my recently deceased grandmother. Could also be wishful thinking as that year was when I told several people I was going to meet my future husband and started online dating and joining activities.

Btw I never got these messages with any other guy I have come across either. In fact only one other guy did I have wedding dreams about. In those dreams the guy wasn’t clearly visible but this guy is. Time will tell.
