Would be very grateful if you would pray for me, I have a broken heart and don’t know what to do. My boyfriend and I recently broke up and I am very worried about him, and he won’t speak to me and when he has he has been cold. I’ve cried almost every day for six weeks and wake up every morning with anxiety, I feel sick and I can’t eat…I go to bed crying and then just dream about him…I’m falling behind in important school assignments and don’t know where my life is going to go and haven’t for years…I thought he was the one for me but apparently not, we’re too different and it doesn’t seem right, yet I remain very much in love despite how he has handled the breakup. He is not Christian and rejects God and is a very lost person and I worry very much for him. I could have done a better job of talking to him about God than I did, and a better job of loving him. If only I could have the chance to talk to him and tell him how sorry I am. Please God let me know when is the right time and please have his heart be opened to listening to me when I talk to him. I won’t be home until December and I worry a lot about this. When we were together, yes, things happened that should not have, but I was the happiest person alive, everything was going right in my life, I had a reason to wake up every day…I lost weight, got straight As and could sleep at night. Loving him was my joy, I didn’t need anything else, or so I thought. But these things are all superficial to God and now I am back to anxiety and depression and misery and having no direction in life. It hurts so badly to have the person who used to look at me like I was the most precious thing in the world now not talk to me and pursue an ugly lifestyle. I want to help but I know only God can do this. The pain and depression is the worst I’ve ever experienced besides an anxiety breakdown.
God doesn’t love me, no matter what I do I’ll just be sent to hell because I’ll never figure anything out or be good enough. I can’t see God as anything but a cruel one who is always telling me that I’m doing everything wrong and selfishly. I hate myself very much and I hate other people and always think I’m better than they are. Please help me so that I can be a writer so I don’t disappoint my parents who spent so much money on my education. I am going to church today for the first time in a year and a half, I hate going to church and I feel like I don’t fit in there and I want to be more private with my faith, it all feels so phony, and I hope that this new church I go to today will have private confessionals because I do not like seeing the priest face to face. I don’t know how much longer I can take this. Please help me…

Love is cruel when you love the wrong person or thing. God DOES love you no matter how you feel about Him. My 27 year old son died & I couldn’t think of anything but sadness & pain. I hated it when people said “time will heal all things” because obviously, they didn’t know what they were talking about. It’s been almost 5 years & you know what?? Time has helped me & it will help you too. Please let God take over your life. The pain will eventually ease & the whole experience will make you a stronger person. Just please don’t shut God out of your life.

I am so sorry that you are suffering so much, sweetheart.
Please take good care of yourself, as your heart is hurting so much at present, and it’s natural that you don’t see much positive in yourself or in others right now.

Yes, it is so very painful when someone who appeared to be very attracted, actually didn’t genuinely love us. If a person genuinely loves us and isn’t just attracted to our adoration of them or something else attractive about us, they don’t just dump us and become cold. If they do that they really never loved us, they just enjoyed what we offered, but only as long as it suited them.

It isn’t your fault that he didn’t change. We can’t change people to love God.
Loving him more, talking more about God, won’t change anyone unless they really want it to change them. But it is wonderful you wish to pray for him. You may be the only person who has ever prayed for him and I’m sure God is thankful that he has someone to pray for him. For all you know, what God desired of you from this past friendshp is that you pray for this 'lost ’ son of His.

You say he was not right for you, and so one of the things that is really breaking your heart is that you don’t have someone whom you like and are attracted to, who choooses you to give special love and attention to, someone you can dream about the future with. This boy isn’t the person, but right now you feel you have no one, and you haven’t let go the broken dreams so they continue to hurt you. If this boy is as you say, then God only sees hurt for you with him, and God’s love, like any loving parent, wants you to find someone who does really love you through good and bad, thick and thin, not someone without Christian values who was attracted but didn’t love you and will walk away sooner or later anyway.

Sweetheart, it is dangerous if we only see another person as a reason to get up. If we don’t have enough sense of self and development of our own integrity as a person with value and talents and worth, that getting up in the morning is worth doing with or without anyone else as focus, then we’re not really ready for relationship. We can’t make other people our happiness or we will always be co-dependent people, half the person we should be. We need to be a whole person to have really wholesome, mustually beneficially relationships, and not be like a vine that falls to the ground if you don’t have someone to twine around to hold us up.

You’re worth more than that. You won’t be sent to hell for failure or because you can’t figure things out. Jesus taught us (Matthew 25 verses 31-49) that what does count is that we do practical acts of kindness for those around us, andthing from a smile or kind word and beyond to any kind of caring practical help. This is God’s over-riding Will for your life.

You do sound very out of sorts, and sad, but you are obviously a person who hopes to give a lot of love in your life, whatever career you choose.
I ask God to help you to heal enough to bein to feel more hopeful, and better about yourself and others. You have a lot to process, a lot to deal with, and it’s very confusing and difficult, but you are worth the best outcomes.
We can all at some time feel out of place in church situations, but it is beautiful that you are trying to find God in all this, and that you are considering Confession and Mass.

:grouphug: Love, Trishie

Be very careful of a “rebound” relationship. You are very vulnerable right now. I’ve found myself in a fix by letting someone comfort me a little too closely when I was recently all alone. Don’t let it happen to you.

Place all that you feel, all that you are experiencing to the feet of Jesus, and leave it there. Allow him to work it all out for you, you do not need to do this alone at all.

God loves you, regardless of how you feel of yourself, his love endures always, we might not always be faithful, he always is, just know this in the core of your being.

You are frustrated with yourself, not being able to live up to his commands, and it’s because you are trying to do it by yourself. We cannot do this by ourselves, we can follow every single rule, lesson, teaching, we can give our lives to charity’s of all kinds, we can be what the world would deem us as “good”, and all of this in God’s eyes are but rags, they are because this is not something you can conform yourself to into compliance, you will fail every single time you do. It is from having Christ within, not without that is something you struggle with, and this is not uncommon what so ever. The good works, the compliance is something that can only be done within Christ, and it flows naturally, not something that takes effort to do, it becomes part of your core nature by default, not the other way around, where your nature and being remain the same, and you are trying to “fit in” to his plans.

I highly suggest taking the prayer I have in my signature and making it your own. Let him heal your wounds, and let him live in you, as a new creation in Christ, and know that with Gods grace, also comes peace of mind, the likes of which, only he can deliver.

Breaking up is hard to do, but six weeks is long enough to mourn the loss of this relationship. It sounds like God kicked him out of your life because he is not right for you. You even thought he is not right for you, and if he is pursuing a distructive lifestyle that is his choice, and he has no business dragging you down with him. I’m glad you have decided to go back to church, that is an excellent first step, but please do not confuse public worship with private faith. Do you keep a journal? If you don’t, try starting a prayer journal for the next month and see if that doesn’t help you focus your thoughts on God and your relationship with Him. Hopefully, that will help you put things into perspective. You have a bright and promising future, I hope you can put this behind you, move on and find the really great guy God has planned for you! :hug3:

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, through the intercession of Mary, the angel Raphael, and all the saints, please lead those of your hurting children, called to participate in your holy sacrament of matrimony, to virtuous and holy relationships. Guide them and keep them, and comfort all of their crushed and weary hearts. In your mercy, hear their prayers for a mate. Amen. :gopray2:

I’m praying for you as I know how you feel.

Hope you’re ok

I went through what you are going through for about a month last year. It was awful. I also couldn’t eat, I was always on the verge of tears, and it was so hard to keep going. I will pray hard for you because I understand how horrible heart break is.

Now seems like a good time for you to learn a new devotion to boost your faith. My favourites are the Rosary and the Divine Mercy chaplet.

full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
