Dear sisters and brothers,

There are certain quotations about our dear Mother from the saints which I return to frequently for consolation, so that I may grow in union with Jesus through His Infinite Mercy in Mary.

Are there quotations or teachings about our merciful Queen that you would also share?

You don’t have to remember them exactly. Paraphrases are fine.

Recently I ran across this statement from St. Jose Maria Escriva (1902-1975). He says that God could not show us a more generous love than in making us His children by giving His own mother as our mother.

He also says that there is no danger of exaggerating how good our Mother is, by the grace of God:

“The divine Motherhood of Mary is the source of all the perfections and privileges with which she is endowed…Greater than she, none but God. ‘The Blessed Virgin from the fact that she is the Mother of God has a certain infinite dignity which comes from the infinite good, which is God.’ There is no danger of exaggerating. We can never hope to fathom this inexpressible mystery; nor will we ever be able to give sufficient thanks to our Mother for bringing us into such intimacy with the Blessed Trinity.”

I am reading “Champions of the Rosary” right now and the problem I have with it is that I like to underline all the good stuff. Well practically the whole book is underlined… There is so much good stuff in there about our Blessed Mother that it can’t be written here…

Thanks for your response, USMC, and for loving Our Lady.

That’s wonderful. I wish I had a copy. The Rosary helps me very much. I think that calling on Mary’s name helps me even more.

Recently I watched the movie “13 Hours” about the Benghazi attack. Those guys, the heroes, are like my opposites, btw.

One of the heroes was reading a book by the author Joseph Campbell called the Power of Myth or something like that.

He quoted “all the gods, all the demons, all the heavens, and all the hells are within you”, or something like that. It was supposed to be very deep.

I was wishing they knew about Our Lord and His Blessed Mother. Some of them were killed. And I felt that also for the murderous attackers, many of whom were killed. It was so sad that they lived their lives without knowing the Immaculata.

Here is a quotation from St. Maximillian Kolbe, quoted in the book, “Immaculate Conception and the Holy Spirit”:

“Mary’s action is the very action of the Holy Spirit”.

Peace of Jesus Christ,

Pat
