The Jehovah’s Witnesses try to make a big distinction between heaven and paradise (which they think of as an Eden-type place).
But, like all languages, Greek does not have only one word to describe something. The New Testament uses four distinctively different Greek words which are typically all translated to English as “heaven.” None of these four words has a close English counterpart.
But a fifth word does have a close English counterpart, and most translators choose to translate *paradeisos *as “paradise” (although some translations use “heaven” for sake of consistency).
And Jesus often referred to Heaven as “my Father’s house,” not using ANY of the usual words.
