I always fall and everytime I fall it seems harder to get back up. All I can think is it will happy again and again with no end to it.

I used to think I would have a long stay in Purgatory but that seems out of reach.

I don’t know where to turn anymore.

All I feel is misery. I’ve been at work all day and just feel like crying.

I don’t doubt God’s mercy but feel battered.

Time to stop allowing the prince of lies to eat away at you Despair is form the evil one.
All of the Gospel messages are flooded with reasons to hope.
Take up reading the Book of Luke) the Gospel of compassion).

Also, I would highly recommend the Novena to Our Lady, UNdoer of KNots, and ask her to take your problems into her hands on your behalf.
It’s very powerful, and will at a minimum, bring you a sense of peace.

Pray every single day so that you can love God above all things. To love God is to do His will. If you love God, you will always be striving for Heaven because Heaven is God.

I have started doing this and have noticed a definite change.

God bless you

Nelka, also see that you are eating properly, healthy, and that you sleep well. And also perhaps…try a walk a day,a little bit,and watch the little beautiful things around.
Sometimes we are lacking vitamin or something our body needs and that affects us too .

Praying for you, Nelka.

People don’t earn their salvation. Pray and all shall be well. I hope. 😃

Fasting and prayer are the enemies of sin.

Reconciliation and the Eucharist are the merciful medicine for our souls.

As @pianistclare suggested, reading the Gospels can have an amazing effect on the conversion of our hearts, helping us turn towards God so as to say, “Thy will be done” instead of “my will be done”.

Remember that God doesn’t motivate us with fear, doubt, or despair, for, these are the favorite tools of the enemy. Our merciful Father instead works with Faith, Hope, and Love.

I pray that the Holy Spirit comes into your heart, sets it ablaze, and renews your hope. Together with the Communion of Saints, I pray that you, and all of us here, have the endurance to finish the race set before us.

Do not despair, for we are all sinners, we are all unworthy, and it is only through His grace and mercy that we may taste of the Salvation won by His Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Perhaps it may do you some good to pick up St. Augustine’s Confessions (I recommend Frank Sheed’s translation) and read the story of his slow, lifelong conversion and turning away from sin and towards God. If there was hope for Augustine, then there can be hope for all of us 😉

Nelka,

That is how I used to feel all the time, day after day, year after year. Then I read True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis De Montfort, and I realized that I needed to stop depending on my willpower and start depending on my Mother. St. John Paul II said she is given to each us particularly so that we can have a unique mother-child, child-mother relationship with her. If you already depend on Mary in everything, then maybe there is something wrong physically. I’m praying for you and am sorry you are suffering, Nelka.

I would advise getting off the internet cold turkey, avoiding all cell phones too. But most of all, spend more time outside, in the sunshine preferably, in the woods or on the beach. It’s really amazing what the beauty of nature and sunshine can do to the mind body and soul.

Dear friend in Christ,

God IS on your side:grinning:

Life IS difficult precisely because GOD intended to be, … WHYSO?

Because in the entire world; indeed the entire Universe ONLY humanity emulates our God in fulfillment of Gen 1:26-27 which teaches that GOD freely choose to Create humanity [ALONE] in His very image.

John 4: 23-24 then tells us that God is an [immortal] SPIRIT
In All of the Created Universe ONLY humanity emulates our God with a mind, intellect, and freewill GIFTED and permanently attached to every human soul [AN EXCLUSIVE], precisely so that we COULD choose for ourselves Eternal hell or heaven.

Only humanity is Rational and can discern Good from evil

Because humanity alone can know God and freely choose to love Him or to hate Him; that becomes our life-long task and search

1 Tim 2:3-4 "[3] This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
[4] who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

WHAT GOD DESIRES; GOD MAKES POSSIBLE:smiley:

So there is NO substitute to Sacramental Confession as Often as Necessary as it is a source of VERY MUCH grace needed to FIGHT our sinful temptations. AND ALSO Holy Communion and Mass as often as possible. Certainly more than once a week. [if possible]

TURN TO GOD AND MARY; THEY WANT WHAT YOU WANT!

PRAY VERY MUCH
Patrick

Truly, all of creation sings of the Creator:
And what is this? I asked the earth; and it answered, I am not He; and whatsoever are therein made the same confession. I asked the sea and the deeps, and the creeping things that lived, and they replied, We are not your God, seek higher than we. I asked the breezy air, and the universal air with its inhabitants answered, Anaximenes was deceived, I am not God. I asked the heavens, the sun, moon, and stars: Neither, say they, are we the God whom you seek? And I answered unto all these things which stand about the door of my flesh, You have told me concerning my God, that you are not He; tell me something about Him. And with a loud voice they exclaimed, He made us!

My questioning was my gazing upon them; and their answer was their beauty.”
Augustine, Confessions Book X, Ch. 6

Turn to the Lord God in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. You don’t doubt God’s Mercy so run to Him in His Sacrament of Mercy. Also, trust in the graces received in the Sacrament as they WILL help strength you against further sin, slowly but surely.

The dark night of the senses and the dark night of the soul are phases of the spiritual journey we all must enter into. These are the times when God is actually closest to us though it feels as though He is furthest away. Take this time to persevere in your prayers…prayer said when we don’t really want to is the strongest prayer of all.

Well, you’re right. It IS impossible if we’re relying on ourselves. (and I have to constantly be reminded of that). While our works and the way we live will be judged, it’s only His grace and mercy that will save us in the end. It’s a mystery, but ultimately all we can really do is trust in that fact.
