Somewhere I read a scripture, I think St.Paul that made it seem like we would have our body in Heaven. Also Jesus said “In my house there are many mansions” do you think Heaven will be like another big city? When I read Revelation that all sounds pretty scary to me so my question is " what do you think Heaven will be like and what will we do there, if we are lucky to get there?

First let me say that I am not certain of the difference between the words “soul” and “spirit”. I have heard some people say they are different. I think they are the same so I will use them interchangeably here. If I am wrong to do so, I humbly ask for correction.

Angels are pure spirits without physical presence. Animals are bodies without spirit. Humans are the link between the two. Dualism, where the body and soul are separate, is a heresy related to Manicheism. Body and soul/spirit are not separate.

Yes, we will have our bodies.

We are temporarily separated from our body in death, but that the appointed time, we will be resurrected and reunited with our perfected bodies.

As for what Heaven will be like, I have no idea. I think the fact that the Bible (unlike the Quran) does not describe it means it is probably beyond our reckoning.

At the end of time, we will all resurrect with our own bodies, “spiritual bodies” as St. Paul calls them, meaning bodies such as Jesus had after the resurrecion, with special powers.

Revelation speaks of a new heaven and a new earth. Many think this means that the earth will be transformed to become an earthly paradise such as Adam and Eve enjoyed.

Our ideas of heaven are highly speculative, but there are a few things we can be sure of.

Heaven will be a place of great joy and happiness. Jesus will wipe away every tear. There will be no fear or suffering, and we will be with God our loving Creator.

Our current likes and dislikes will evaporate into nothing as we gladly embrace the fullness of life given to us by God. We will be as God intended and designed us to be. A butterfly(assuming it could think) would never wish to return to the life of a caterpillar. Likewise, our existence in our current state is something that we will have no desire for. Life will be so much more glorious since we will enjoy the immediate presence of God.

The truth is, I don’t know. What is a glorified body like? Put your trust in God. I do know this. Jesus said, “The kingdom is here”. This kingdom is here now! Not tomorrow, not later, today in this very moment. How do we enter the kingdom if it is here, but loving one another as he loved us; however, when we do that our flesh will suffer. We will not carry this flesh forever. The demands of the Kingdom are found in Mathew 5,6, & 7. The only way to experience it is to live it. You will never undetsatnd it until you begin to live the word of God. The revelation will come.
