Before i became catholic about a month ago i was into, well you can take a look.
www.cultofcthulhu.net

i warn you though you will likely find it extremely offensive.

I have done my hail marys and am currently fasting for my sins.
I still enjoy metal and some sub-genres. bands like
dimmu borgir
marilyn manson
cradle of filth
lacuna coil

should i stop listening to these?

There are lots of heavy bands that you can still enjoy. The question you should ask yourself is, “Why do I want to expose myself to music or anything that might lead me to sin or partake in the sin of others?” I can give you a list of great bands that are positive music. They can help you build up your faith, and lead you to deeper understanding of Christ. The band named "Red’ is a good one to start. “This Beautiful Republic” is good too. If you need more examples pm me.

and your motive for posting a link to an offensive site on a Catholic forum?

Heavy metal itself is not offensive, though some lyrics can be. I like the voice of the female singer in lacuna coil, but I can’t recall anything anti religious in her lyrics.

If the music bothers you or hurts you on your walk with God then yes, don’t listen. Anything that prevents you from growing spiritually should be halted.

But you have to understand, what hurts some Christians, isn’t always harmful for others. .

I listen to a variety of music including heavy metal-some very heavy I would say. I don’t feel that it hurts me as a Christian but I understand that someone else might feel differently.

By the way Avenge Sevenfold’s lyrics for Beast and the Harlot are from Revelations. I just thought that was interesting that a metal band would use the bible as inspiration for a song

.**Beast And The Harlot"

**This shining city built of gold, a far cry from innocence,
There’s more than meets the eye round here, look to the waters of the deep.
A city of evil.
There sat a seven-headed beast, ten horns raised from his head.
Symbolic woman sits on his throne, but hatred strips her and leaves her naked.
The Beast and the Harlot.

She’s a dwelling place for demons.
She’s a cage for every unclean spirit,
every filthy bird and makes us drink
the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings.
Fallen now is Babylon the Great.

The city dressed in jewels and gold, fine linen, myrrh and pearls.
Her plagues will come all at once as her mourners watch her burn.
Destroyed in an hour.
Merchants and captains of the world, sailors, navigators too.
Will weep and mourn this loss with her sins piled to the sky,
The Beast and the Harlot.

She’s a dwelling place for demons.
She’s a cage for every unclean spirit,
every filthy bird and makes us drink
the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings.
Fallen now is Babylon the Great.

The day has come for all us sinners.
If you’re not a servant, you’ll be struck to the ground.
Flee the burning, greedy city.
Lookin’ back on her to see there’s nothing around.

I don’t believe in fairytales and no one wants to go to hell.
You’ve made the wrong decision and it’s easy to see.
Now if you wanna serve above or be a king below with us,
You’re welcome to the city where your future is set forever.

She’s a dwelling place for demons.
She’s a cage for every unclean spirit,
every filthy bird and makes us drink
the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings.
Fallen now is Babylon the Great.
