A Jewish friend and I were discussing the Ten Commandments. He said the correct translation of one is “Thou shalt not murder” not “Thou shalt not kill” This is not a minor distinction. Murder is NEVER justified, but killing may be. My question is why Catholics and Protestants use the “kill” instead of “murder” translation?
