can someone explain this with a little depth to it. Are my willful sins (primarily sexual ones) never forgiven? what if i confess every time even if i keep doing it (such as using a condom during sex with my wife)?

consider this from the Haydock Bible Commentary

Ver. 26. If we sin wilfully. He speaks of the sin of wilful apostacy from the known truth; after which, as we cannot be baptized again, we cannot expect to have that abundant remission of sins, which Christ purchased by his death, applied to our souls in that ample manner as it is in baptism; but we have rather all manner of reason to look for a dreadful judgment; the more, because apostates from the know truth seldom or never have the grace to return to it. (Challoner)

If we sin willfully is key in this. We can always be forgiven for our sins, but it does make it hard not to willfully sin when you know that it is a sin. I would also refer to 1471-1473 of Catechism of the Catholic Church. They deal with the punishment of sin and indulgences. But if you confess the same sins time after time are you really learning from your mistake and are you really sorry for the sins that you have committed. It is our a nature to sin, but God alone forgives our sins. CCC 1491 but also see 894 of the CCC on the authority he gave the apostles and their successors.
Hope this helps.

The writer of Hebrews is talking about the sin of apostasy, not other types of sin. This is why he uses such strong language to describe how bad apostasy is.

As for using a condom, if you are using it under duress (for example your wife won’t use NFP) you are being forced into doing what you know you shouldn’t, which mitigates your sin (not that committing sin is ever a good thing). You should tell your confessor the circumstances under which you are doing this so that he can advise you.

Confessing one’s sins without intending to try and stop sinning is a bad confession and you are not absolved. This is because you are willfully clinging to your sins, rather than letting Christ take them away.

i know that they are bad confessions, its just hard that when you finally get married you think that you can have sex all you want, but you can’t. Some will say yes you can, but this is only if you want to have a whole bunch if children. After hearing all of this talk against pre-marital sex, i thought i would finally to be saved from sexual immorality, but no. I love god, and i love jesus for saving me thus far. I am really considering converting to just regular christianity to escape this anti-birth control business. I am under so much stress worrying about if im going to hell. I finally feel relieved then i find another bible vese to convince me that i am destined to eternal damnation.

so anyways is this verse only talking about turning your back on god?

If that is what he is doing. However, if he intends to stop but the temptation is too great for him that is another matter, and something his confessor should sort out.

Why put all your stres into weather or not your going to hell. As Catholics we believe that God doesn’t just send anyone to hell. One must choose that he would prefer go to hell over heaven by his actions. I truly believe you want to go to heaven instead of going to hell. I think that you just need a little confidence boost that you aren’t the only that has gone through this and seek help to overcome your fears. If there is anything I can do to help please contact me.

First of all, being married means being open to the possibility of having children–it’s not just a “get to have sex for free” card. And secondly, the Church has never said that people must have as many children as they can produce. So, it’s perfectly fine to plan on having children not just letting it happen. There are options out there for responsibly and rightly spacing/limiting the number of children you and your wife want to have. This is why marriage is for adults, and something couples should discuss before getting married.

And leaving the Sacraments Christ gave us in order to relieve yourself of feeling guilty won’t work, either. God is not looking to make your life hard–he is telling you what will make you truly happy in this world and the next. You have to learn to trust him instead of buying into the world’s ideas about happiness.

Yes. Apostasy is deliberately turning one’s back on God with full knowledge and consent of will.

**Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. Matt 18:22

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8**

Gods’ mercy and forgiveness are limitless as long as we humble ourselves and ask for and accept it. While this shouldn’t be taken as an excuse to be cavalier about sin, it is an assurance that God is patient and kind and won’t give up on us and that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is an integral part of the process of conversion or interior transformation-a part we should utilize until we’re no longer in need of forgiveness.

So far, I’ve used this sacrament to great advantage in overcoming sin (hard as it may be sometimes to confess the same sin repeatedly) but I don’t see any relief for the priests in the immediate future from hearing about my evil ways.

OTOH, if you never see improvement in an area after struggling with it over a period of time, you need to question your own seriousness about-but even then, like I said, God’s very patient-and His grace works in amazing ways for those who humble themselves before Him.

Keep confessing your sins my friend. It is the sacrament our Lord instituted for us.

Heb 10:26 is talking about the deliberate sin of reverting back to the worship of traditional Judiasm and its ineffectual ceremonies and sacrifices.

This is a symbol of the present time, in which gifts and sacrifices are offered that cannot perfect the worshiper in conscience but only in matters of food and drink and various ritual washings: regulations concerning the flesh, imposed until the time of the new order. (Heb 9:9-10)

This deliberate sin amounts to exchanging the perfect sacrifice of Christ for the animal sacrifices of the Law, which had no power to take away sin.

Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of them, it can never make perfect those who come to worship by the same sacrifices that they offer continually each year. Otherwise, would not the sacrifices have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, once cleansed, would no longer have had any consciousness of sins? But in those sacrifices there is only a yearly remembrance of sins, for it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats take away sins. (Heb 10:1-4)

For by one offering he has made perfect forever those who are being consecrated. (Heb 10:14)
