Hehe, I really faked out my wifey last night. The weekend started out fairly normal and busy as usual. One of our college DD’s came home for the weekend to get some things she had to have, like a couple/several new dresses, earrings, picture frames, home cooked meals, etc. Although she did take a bottle of Holy Water back to college with her, which was pretty encouraging. So Fri. night and Saturday went fine with chores, shopping and watching some college football.

So, Sunday morning while getting ready for Mass DD1 starts to go into panic mode. She just finished her MBA and is starting her first full time job out of town a few hrs away from us, with a Fortune 500 company next week. She says she needs to get her insurance straight both car and health, and she also says she has nothing to wear for work, Ya right. And she needs a haircut and a new purse, etc. etc. So in about a nano-second our house has it’s own little hurricane. Oh the drama and super drama of having a house full of women. I am not making light of all this because it is a pretty big step to send our daughter off for the first time into the real world of work and all.

So DW does some shopping with her and makes arrangements, to take today off from her job and help more today. I helped her get more organized and pack and worked thought insurance, car stuff and all.

So after a hectic and pretty stressful day we both collapse in bed last night. As we’re holding hands just letting our bodies rest for min, I say to her, “come over here and let’s be as close as a husband and wife can be”.

DW, is like “WHAT? I don’t have the emotional or physical strength to give to anyone else".

I said, “yes you do, just put your head on my shoulder”.

So she lays her head down and I say… “The first Glorious Mystery… The Resurrection…Jesus rises from the dead according to the Scripture”.

She, pops her head up and says “What are you doing? I said, we are being as close as a married couple can be by praying the Rosary, thanking God for all our blessings and asking for His protection and grace for our family.” “Just like it says in Corinthians Ch7.”

She punches me on the chest and says, “ You think you are so smart and holy, don’t you?” I said, well I’m trying”🤷

I think she fell asleep somewhere during the Third Mystery, I completed the Rosary giving thanks to our Lord and asking the Blessed Mother to guide and protect all my girls(DW included).

Those women, have such a one track mind don’t they?😛 Haha. Have a good day everyone.

You know how to live up to your screen name, don’t you?! Well done!

this was a wonderful story.

(don’t underestimate the importance of needing a new handbag, GD.)

(do you think if BamaRider tried this he might get off the hook emptying the dishwasher? it’s worth a try, Bama.)

You took a page out of my book. Keep up the good work!

Monica - are you sure your not my sister? We think a lot alike in many ways!

What a wonderful way to end the day GratefulDad!

Wooooooooooow… GratefulDad, I hope your wife knows what she’s got! 👍

That is sooooooooooooooooooooo so so so so SO romantic!

Oh my, what a lucky gal your wife is. I’m envious over here. :o

It is kind of amazing how powerful and intimate it is praying together as a married couple is. Could it be that it’s euphoric?:yup:

You sound like my DH (although he’s always willing to accept the “okay, but try not to wake me” response, too! 😃 )

Very nice!👍
