As an extremely tall woman I always feel compelled to reply when I see these topics in forums! Growing up I was discriminated against because of my height, not allowed to play on playground equipment designed for “kids” (this happened at my 8th birthday party), and yelled at by other parents who assumed I was too old to play with their kids. I once had a neighbor boy’s father get in my face and threaten to call the police on my after I argued with his son (we were both 11).
Anyway, as an adult the biggest issues that I face are finding clothing and shoes. While there are petite and plus sized sections at most stores, there are almost no stores anywhere for me to shop, and I am forced to shop online. Long sizes at most department stores aren’t long enough!
People are constantly making comments to me as well, which can be annoying at times (although I am usually good natured about it).
I am sympathetic to short men, I think that being a very tall woman is about the equivalent to being a very short man.
For what it’s worth, I am 6’3" plus maybe half an inch.
Cheers
