Oral sex is not forbidden by the Church. Married couples can have oral sex as long as it’s used as foreplay, and as long as sex ends in the marital embrace.
Correct…which as why I said by ITSELF…meaning no marital embrace. It however can make the person just an “object” so it should be used carefully…

Would I go to hell if I engaged in non-procreative sex with my spouse?

In other words, is marital, non-procreative sex a venial or mortal sin?
No will not go to hell. The Church teaches that sexual relations between a wife and husband is a gift from God. A good sexual relation strenghtens the relationship and is important to have a healthy marriage.

We also theach Natural family planning. In doing so this also helps to develop communication and understanding within the marriage. When you married in the Church you agreeded to accept any children sent from God, so there is a chance, even if a couple is carefull of concieving.

Enjoy a healthly sexual relationship with your spouse. I give you this advice as a married deacon.

Making love with your spouse is one of the miracles that God gave us as human beings. Each couple must decide if they think it’s a “sin” to make love when not open to conception. We may all click our tongues and wag our fingers, but our sex life is between 3 beings - husband, wife and the Lord.

I don’t mean to be vulgar. But what I mean by non-procreative sex is any sex that cannot induce pregnancy:

Are you saying that married couples can go to hell for doing these acts?

I hope that no one finds my post to be vulgar. It’s just that I’ve always wondered these things about my faith. Please don’t be offended.

I would listen to what FAB said a few posts above. A question like yours will produce a million different answers on a forum like this. FAB is speaking from a position of knowledge.

It has always been my impression that as long as a couple is not purposely contracepting then they are free to do as they wish in regards to their sexual intimacies. I would not let posters here disturb your thoughts about this. If you are really concerned, then try to talk to a priest about it; I’m sure they’ve gone through it before.

To put it bluntly, yes, these actions are sinful when taken to completion.

This is sex with no possibility of procreation - an abuse of God’s gifts.

I know this comes as a shock to many. This is how depraved our society has become and how little is taught from the pulpit.

In the words of Hagrid of HP - “these are dark times Harry.”

Hold fast to the faith and keep learning!

“More souls go to Hell because of the sins of the flesh than for any other reason.” - Our Lady of Fatima

Yes.

Anyone can (and will) go to Hell if they die in the state of mortal sin. What we can’t do here is determine whether a person is in a state of mortal sin - that’s the job of a confessor.

The Church does NOT require reversal of sterilization, at all. Nor does the Church require celebacy after sterilization for married couples. However, they must go to confession and get absolution.
so confess and do not repent is what the church teaches:confused: how does one truly repent of such a sin…does not the church teach if you take something you should restore it? With sterilation one takes God’s gift of sexuality for thier own and not God’s purpose. Should they not restore back to God what they took?

Confess (and be truthful about it) and be reconciled with the Church. Yes, that’s exactly what the Church requires. The Church does not require that sterilizations be reversed.

Just jump from CAF to the USCCB directly. Do not stop to collect $200.00

There are many rules that govern the conjugal act. Obviously, if a man or woman in unable to reproduce, there is nothing to worry about.

As far as interfering, the use of artificial means is never justified. Contraception is out.

Natural Family Planning has moral parameters that must be followed. The USCCB’s Office on Family Life sets the standard that all the Dioceses in the USA follow on this matter. You can go to your diocesan website and find their pro-life ministry page or go directly to the USCCB.

There are some things that you cannot restore. If you take a life, you cannot bring it back. That does not mean that you must stop living. You must repent, confess and do penance. There are many ways to do penance.

In addition, married people have a right to the conjugal act. The Church is not in the business of violating human rights, natural rights and moral rights. Therefore, a person who undergoes a sterilization procedure and repents is not going to be asked to give up his or her right to the conjugal act or to deny the spouse as a penance. There are many ways to atone for our sins.

I was told wasting sperm is an abomination.
You were told something out of context. St. Thomas Aquinas made a similar statement speaking about masturbation. He was not speaking about the intimacy that leads to the conjugal act. There are cases where there is pre-mature ejaculation during the period preceeding intercourse.

Mb done wilfully to the finish is sinful, premature is not done wilfully therefore the one element needed is removed.

If it can be reversed,if…
it’s possible
is not a finacial burden
One would need to know the couple’s intent as in was it the plan to never have children or just wait till things are better.
Maybe they were planning to have children later.just not right now. If that were the case why should they be allowed to enjoy the result of their sin until they decide to have children.

This is tongue in cheek but has a serious point too 😃

But how much of a miracle do you need to leave open in order to remain on the right side of the law so to speak ?

If it’s willfully, then it’s masturbation, not intercourse. That answers that.

The Church will never impose this on anyone. This would fall under elective surgery, not medically necessary. You’re not saving someone’s life or healing an illness. Therefore, it falls under extraordinary means to make restitution. The Church does not ask for extraordinary means of restitution, because Christ did not ask for that.

The Church is also very savvy. Extraordinary means of restitution can be disordered, if they put the person’s life or health at risk when it’s unnecessary to do so. Surgery is always risky. One has to deal in the issue of proportionality here. Is the risk necessary? If you’re conscience is not at peace after receiving absolution, the you have a bigger problem in the area of faith than you do in the area of morality. Christ’s parting words to the sinner is “Go in peace.” not “Go and worry about this”.

In the ascetical life we make restitution for our sins and the sins of others, but we do so in a measured manner that does not do harm to us or others and we do so out of love, not to appease our guilt. To make restitution to appease our guilt can be a form of self-love. There is a fine line there between love of God and neighbor and love of self. You don’t punish yourself because it makes you feel good. The same rule applies here, you don’t

Ordinary means of restitution are enough: prayer, penance, and works of mercy.

HUH??? I don’t understand.
