Hell and the Enemy exist. Priests and bishops who don’t teach about them will probably wind up there

Before anything else, let it be said that, “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (1 Cor 10:13)

Now…

The greatest accomplishment of the Enemy of our souls is to deceive people that the Enemy doesn’t exist … that there is no Hell … that people can’t go to Hell … that no one is in Hell, blah blah blah.

Provocative title. Interesting article. Thanks for recommending it.

Yes I’m uncomfortable with saying that anyone is “probably” going to hell. That seems to have been common Catholic thinking at one point (so and so committeed suicide so they must be in hell), but the mind of the Church seems to have moved to an agnostic trust in God’s mercy.

I would rather think that the priests who don’t believe Hell exists are under deceit and we should pray for them because they are suffering. They are human as we are. And sometimes the more you try the more you are under attack.

We don’t have a way to know for sure that someone is in Hell like we do for Heaven with canonization of saints.

Unless one is given a special knowledge, then I don’t see how they can specify that.
