Have you ever asked how a loving God could condemn most of His children to eternal torment? Bishop Carlton Pearson did, and his answer will change everything you ever thought you knew about God, eternity and God’s plan for humankind.

This Friday, 13th July, 20/20 will have a story on Hell, and Bishop Pearson will be interviewed.
 
My thoughts are that even though hell is a real place, no one is there except demons. Even if someone killed a thousand people, does he deserve an eternity in hell? If you think they do, then you are sick. God is the ultimate love and forgiveness, so that adds even more ‘logic’ to my thoughts. For someone to be in hell they’d have to talk with God first and openly reject him and want to be with the devil. If anyone who has died rejected God after ‘meeting’ him, I seriously doubt that they’d join the devil, though. And when we become our purest form, souls without a body, all the things that have been brainwashed into our minds are washed away. When it comes down to it, we aren’t even ‘human’ in the general sense when we die anymore.
 
I believe Jesus. He said Hell is real and people can go there.
 
Wow…if a man like him can add “bishop” before his name, I suppose I could add “Captain” or “Prime Minister” to mine…The man looks a tad sketchy to me, but I’ll allow other, more experienced Catholics make a decision.

We do not need a Bishop to tell us if there is a Hell.

We can find out if there is a Hell though.

My vote is:

It is Real. Yet, ignored by many. 😦

Was it Jesus who said that or man? I thought that we wrote the Bible, not God. This makes the Bible very paradoxical, God will always love and forgive you yet if you sin too much he’ll make you suffer eternally. See the error?

Where do you pull this from? The Bible or your own imagination?

Regardless, that “bishop” says that he has been given an “apostolic mandate.” 🤷

The disciples wrote what He teaches - His Word.
Those in Hell chose not to love God. They chose Hell - it is their free will.

I am asking for clarity, so I can try to understand how one can ignore it

Are you likewise saying God had nothing to do with Holy Scripture?
 
There is no error.

We have eternal souls.

We have free will.

We are not robots or machines.

We can do what we like.

But- I must come back tomorrow as I cant post anymore tonight. I was waiting for a post and never got it.

I would like to resume this conversation tomorrow with anyone who denies Hell.
 
Bishop Carlton isn’t Catholic.

Catholics aren’t the only ones with bishops, ya know.😉

Bishop Carlton Pierson, senior pastor, Higher Dimensions Interdenominational Church, is an Evangelical minister, of the Charismatic persuasion. Evidently he and his congregation have parted ways since his change of heart over the existance of hell.

In a way, I feel sorry for him. He is genuinely confused as to why the justice of God demands an eternity separated from Him when one rejects His authority and the surrender of self will. It really is a choice that sends people there, not God’s meanness of spirit.

And in all fairness, being outside the Catholic Church, he doesn’t have the wonderful gift of insight given to us by St. Faustina in the message of Christ’s Divine Mercy. If he understood this great gift to us, he may not have given up on the orthodox Christian view of hell and it’s reality.
