Hello! New here and looking for Bible Suggestions for wedding present

Hello,

I would like to say a warm hello to everyone on the forum! I just decided to sign up and post but have been a lurker for a while. I have found some wonderful posts here and a lot of great info. I think it’s great that there is a forum for us Traditional Catholics to express our thoughts 👍

I am getting married in November and am searching for a nice, high quality, larger print, traditional Roman Catholic Bible as a gift to start off my new family. I’m interested in a Douay Rheims but there are many printings and am not sure which one to go with. I understand from posts in the pasts and from doing some research that the Haydock commentary is a nice addition; I would certainly enjoy some additional commentary. But, I know there are other varieties. I would also love some nice graphic illustrations on the inside and a nice leather bound cover. This will be a family heirloom. Any suggestions for me?

Hi and welcome !

I don’t own the Haydock, but it seems highly recommended going by threads on various forums.

Not much help I know, but I’m sure someone will chime in that owns a Haydock.

Baronius Press publishes some nice Bibles:

The Haydock is published by Loreto (although pretty much everyone else carries it too):

The problem with the Haydock (and the regular Loreto D-R) is that they are photographic reproductions of earlier editions and thus the text is not very crisp. You get used to it, but the Baronius editions are digitally retypeset and the text looks much better.
