Hello, What is the Catholic Policy on Marriages

Priests can perform Catholic ceremonies outside of a church (building) with the bishop’s permission…

A priest must get permission from the bishop to do the marriage rite outside of a church. It happens at times but there are some bishops that will not allow a marriage to be done outside of a church.

My brother got married on a Golf course. It was pretty funny to see the golf carts careening around in the background. The priest and I joked that the wedding parties should have driven up in golf carts.
