No, and I do not recommend you saying that stuff( when talking to atheists) because it is offensive and annoying to people; that have struggled researching for truth and have came to the conclusion that there is no valid reason to believe in god, and that the theistic world view is very unlikely. Also it is an ad hominem.
First off, clarify what people are being annoyed and offended. Second, I started off with what I wrote to express a point that if people shouldn’t be unfairly lumped into a category about who does and doesn’t believe in God, then we shouldn’t rely on conventional methods to prove or disprove God. Perhaps if you read my entire post you would not have been so quick to post an uniformed comment. In the Bible you can find these words “THERE IS NO GOD”. Which is the in the same manner you read my post. But if you look properly you’ll see that the Bible really says “Only a fool in his heart believes there is no God” Which is exactly the way you DIDN’T read my post. I did not join this website to tippy toe around people’s emotions and worry about hurting your’s and anybody’s feelings. I joined to tell the truth and to learn the truth. And when all people (even the ones that get annoyed and offended) put the search for truth above their fragile feelings, the world just might get a little better. NOW IF TEN PEOPLE CAN POST A VALID REASON WHY MY ORIGINAL POST IS OFFENSIVE AND ANNOYING I WILL ATTEMPT TO DELETE OR EDIT MY POST, provided this site allows me to do so. Remember, valid reason. Your hurt feeling is NOT a valid reason.

No chance in the world for me to do the math on that. ;p

I never claimed multiverses, where did you read this?

Earth is approx. 4,5 billion years old. Now remember that there could be 50 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 planets in the universe - at least.

This is just hypothesizing from my part though - there’s people out there with far more knowledge on the subject than what I can offer you right now.
Sorry, my bad!! But it still doesn’t change anything, for we have not seen these 50 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 planets to which you refer to (as an atheist you need material proof of their existence). otherwise you act on faith rather than reason.

Their existance is calculated using logic and reason.

We have not seen all of them, no, but if there were 50 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 planets, wouldn’t the odds be at least decent of life eventually existing in at least one of them? It doesn’t have to be more than this one that we’re living on.

Hi Annabea,

I believe that we should define some terms to clarify our discussion.
Firstly, God either exists or not.
If a person believes that God does exist, then they are believers, or theists.
People who believe that there is no god, are atheists.
Those who are unsure of the existence of a god, are agnostics.
Does this seem reasonable to you?

Kind regards
Dawid
Not that again. But, sure.

Excellent!!! It’s quite refreshing to find a respectable young person who has a mind of their own. Having faith in something of which there is absolutely no evidence of its existence is irrational and borders on the delusional.

I suggest you read the works of Richard Dawkins and there is a particularly excellent video series of his entitled The Root of All Evil? of which you can view episode one here:

I am actually in the middle of the god delusion, and thank you.

Oh, no. The Bible makes it very clear that slavery is A-OK. It’s the New Testament that provides only tacit approval, and that’s only because it just doesn’t deal with the topic much.

Let me get this straight. I provide explicit verses (and only a few) that in plain language describe chattel slavery and limits of beatings, but another passage makes them what, disappear? Why is that?
Firstly, I meant to say the NT rather than the Bible (sorry I was in a rush when I wrote that post). Secondly, the NT does not provide tacit approval of slavery, heres why? Because Jesus viewed all of humanity whatever their station and/or economic stature . . . etc as being equally loved and created by God.

“You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free. male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Gal. 3: 26-29

Having said this, the NT through Paul does speak of master/slave relations without denouncing the institution outrightly (but if Jesus claimed we are to love our neighbors as ourselves than this would include slaves too!), it does not mean that Christians, however, approved of such an institution, they tolerated it in as much as they could considering their mission was to save men’s soul (it was not to save us from physical harm that Jesus came to earth to die and resurrect). It was a spiritual revolution the apostles/disciples were seeking to create wherein by changing men’s heart they would succeed in destroying all the evils of the world (including slavery). God bless.

My logic and reason tells me God created it, as the fine-tuning (or constants) of the universe suggests an intelligent designer not blind chance.

P.S. We have seen none of them that harbour life.

Annabea,
I have never come across a 12 year old like you. Don’t you understand that the people
who are answering your questions, etc, are trying to be helpful and not hurtful.
Your comments are very rude, coming from a child your age so I all I can say is that
you are the Devil’s incarnate.

May God deliver you from the devil’s hands.
Josey
I certainly didn’t mean to be rude.
(In bold) Sorry, that made me smile.

Eh, not really. Depends, if I have completed my goals in life or not. It will be sad if I die young.
You still have not answered my question Annabea, do you think animals love in the same capacity as Humans do?

No, He hasn’t, you just don’t understand what you’re reading. Jesus told us when we are to pray we are to keep in mind God’s will for us (thy kingdom come, thy will be done). Therefore, if I ask God to give me 1 000 000$ do you think because I prayed for such an objective it will be answered. And poverty is something that can be rectified through action, not prayer; in fact we produce enough food (in the West) to feed all of the hungry, what should we do then with this extra food? You need to discern when it’s appropriate to pray and when it’s appropriate to act (or do both).
More excuses for your incompetent God.

DUDE! I have answered you a million times!!! I said I do not know. It seems apparently so. Please go back through and look at my comments when you asked this. It will show you a bit more info.

edit: I can’t get into the minds of animals!

No, it’s people who are incompetent, and greedy, and hurtful, and violent, and mean, and rude. . . .etc. God has shown us the way, the truth and the life as shown in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

Blind chance, given enough time and opportunities will inevitably hit at some point. We have seen no other planets with life, so perhaps our planet is the only one who hit - at this point?

Annabea, I’m a dudette :D, and no, you can’t get in the minds of animals but you can observe them, correct? And you’re answers were always wishy washy.

If you observe us, would it be apparent that we loved to the capacity we do? The ways we express love are not the same as other animals. Sometimes we do not show that we love something or someone. Take a monkey, very social indeed. Might them grooming each other be an act of love? Perhaps, its just love like you love your mom, or brother or father, or a close friend. What I’m saying is even if we observe them, they are going to have different ways of showing feelings. Again, the elephants.
