Help! 13's Feelings

Maybe you should suggest to your mom that she cruise this site, so she knows what is on it. Then maybe she might be more leniant.

They also might be trying to get you out of your room more often to spend time with them. I suggest making an effort to get a little more involved in family life and then seeing if you can get more time online.

(p.s. I know what you mean when it seems like HERE is where the friends are, I totally empathize)

She has been on this site before. I do though. I go grocery shopping more than half of the time for my mom. (That’s how I was almost hit by a car today. Which wasn’t my fault.) I’m very involved with my family. I do tons for my family…I do help out a lot. I “dropped out” of volleyball because I thought it was too much time away from my family. I had practice everyday of the school week, execpt for the one day we’d have a game. So, yeah…I’m involved.

By the way I hated my teen years so much… My family, luckly, was great. My friends, I thought I had, where awful. I hope you continue to post and talk. I wish I had these wonderful people to talk to when I was growing up.

I don’t know why she and my dad said that…I haven’t figured that out, and I’ve asked too. Oh well, I’ll work on it…

So, why did you quit volleyball? It sounds like you need to socialize more. You sound lonely. I can sympathize since I was a loner in high school. I really just couldn’t relate to anyone.

Anyways, don’t worry about straight 'A’s. Your parents will survive not having all their kids be totally perfect. I’ll bet your sisters aren’t really totally perfect anyways. Just a guess. Anyways, moods are normal.

Volleyball, was taking too much time…I had practice everyday of the school week, except the one day I’d have a game. Well, when it comes to socializing, I can be great at it if I were to have the right people close to where I live. I would not want to “hang out” with any girl from the school that I go to. A few I can talk to during school, but anyone I’d want to hang out with just happens to live exactly 1,824.32 miles away. So, I don’t really have anyone that I’d like to be around…that’s why I think I should be able to be on here longer. This is where my friends are.

Maybe you should count your blessings instead of your hurt feelings. You are lucky your parents are concerned about your grades and you. They probably want you to put forth your best effort. They know you pretty well and what performance you are capable of. Many kids are out there running around doing anything they want because their parents are either too busy or don’t care about what they are doing.

An hour is quite a bit of time on just this forum. Do you share the computer with other family members? There would not be much left of the day if everyone spent an hour each day on a forum, after school, meals, chores etc.
