my dad does a very annoying yawn everyday and even more then once.

i was already sort of annoyed with me brother and something that i couldn’t find and when he did this yawn i said in the next room shut up without thinking. and i wasn’t looking at him these 2 rooms are sort of together anyway.

this yawn is very loud and very annoying.

i did it without thinking and he didn’t say anything or even cared. would you think did is venial

I don’t think it’s mortal, mortal sin requires grave matter, knowledge, and deliberate consent.

We all can be annoying sometimes.
Living in a family, studying amongst others, and working with others…we can all find something to be annoyed about. What are the ways in which I annoy others that I might not even be aware of? We can be very sure that we can be very annoying also.

This may not be the case with you,

but it often seems to be the case when people ask “did I sin”, that it seems mostly all about the person thinking of themselves. Instead of looking into ourselves and thinking about ourselves, worrying whether or not we have blotted our own self, why don’t we apply ourselves to being tolerant, in being especially kind to others. Instead of our worrying about ourselves. A lot of the questions of 'did I sin, is this a sin" really means when obviously it isn’t mortal …is not so much caring about God but how* I,*stand, when really we should be putting ourselves out by honoring God and by doing what Jesus said, loving others. We are so busy thinking about ourselves. If we think we’ve been uncharitable, why don’t we make the extra attempt to do something extra thoughtful and kind for the other person.

I think what we need to understand, is not making uncharitable things all about ourselves, but if we think we have been uncharitable, *make it about the other person *and figure good things we can do for them to make their life easier.

I don’t think this constitutes “grave matter”, so at worst it would be a venial sin.

If you feel bad about it, why don’t you bring it up with your Dad and apologize?

My wife would have probably said the same thing your mom did.
