We are powerless to condemn anyone to hell, only God can do that. However we are bound to speak the truth, and the truth is that Islam teaches that all Jews and Christians need to submit to Islam, or be eradicated. Don’t forget that Islam picks on all non-Muslims, not just Christians and Jews. Muslims are required to offer conversion or subjugation to Christians, Jews and Zoroathrians. They are not required to offer t his to pagans such as Hindu’s. It’s alright to just slaughter them giving them no choice.

It’s not common vocabulary and way of speech for Christians today.

Hi again, sorry for my delayed reply.

The debate was postponed minutes before me and a couple of others were about to leave for the mosque. The debate is now scheduled for 16:00 CET this coming Saturday.

So, I’ve got all week on me to prepare even more.

Btw, I had a rather intense debate over msn with one of the fellows who was going to come with to the mosque (he’s muslim), where he started throwing verses at me totally out of context. When I provided logical explanations, he stood fast by his prefixed ones. Very interesting.

Very interesting? Its standard course. This is the standard for discussions with Muslims. This is how the ‘debates’ go. They are not interested in learning from you or any other Christian. They have already spent years being schooled by their Imam on what they consider the corruption of the bible.

Sounds like he’s got his “talking points” down pat! The sign of an ideologue! Ideologues are fairly ubiquitous on TV so the technique is quite common. They have something they have planned to say. They don’t necessarily address the question or topic at hand, although some that are more skilled will at least make a token attempt to relate their answer to the question/topic. And there is no debate involved, no exchange, they just “spout”.

It is charitable of you to give them your time.

What you say is true, BelFarfalla, and they are quite good at it, regardless of how crude it may be. Although, there is one who is quite calm and thoughtful about his arguments. However, he very, very seldom attacks Christianity, rather, he tries to describe why Islam is true. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the privilege to discuss with him alone, which I believe could be far more beneficial than with the other blindly verse toting ones.

I have met these people many times, having lesser debates with them on a semi-regular basis. The real debates are in real life, but at times when I speak with them over msn, we end up debating there also.

Yes, what some of them do can certainly be described as such, MelanieAnne. Although when I do this, I certainly do gain a good insight into their religion as well as their religion’s perspective on Christianity.
