Hi everyone, this will likely be the last topic I create on here for a while. Like I mentioned earlier I committed some sins, some were maybe mortal. I guess I’ll list them off, because I don’t know, and have no one to really ask and they are causing me quite a bit of worry.
  • I showed someone a picture on my phone while they were driving. (Extremely reckless and stupid)
  • I had some racist thoughts about some people for what their place did, the slurs were racist, but directed toward a nationality. I’m also not sure, but I think I was fighting them. But I can’t remember.
  • I entertained many what I think to be lustful thoughts, but I’m not sure. There was no nudity, or desire to have sex, just thoughts of being with this individual. The only thing that may make it more grave, would be that this person may have been married, but I don’t know. I also did things to trigger these thoughts, and they were accompanied sometimes with homophobic remarks, and thoughts. As well as myself saying I’m better than people with same sex attraction.
  • As well as venting some frustration regarding a family member.
I’m not sure if anyone on here can help me, or give me some insight. But if anyone can, it’d be greatly appreciated. I’m only asking on here because I have no one else, and can’t go to confession until Tuesday maybe, I still don’t know.

Hello,
You posted in your other thread that you suffer from OCD/ mental health conditions and it also seems like you may have the mental condition of scruples, which is similar to OCD regarding sins.

As advised in your other thread, you should please discuss your mental health issues with your doctor or counselor, and also when it is possible you should discuss with a priest your possible scrupulosity problem.

Posting here about these topics is unlikely to help you and may even make your condition worse. For that reason, we are advised not to respond to persons (there are many) who make such posts and topics on here. We can pray for you however.

God bless.

I know I’m sorry for making these posts. When I was making them I was a little wound up, and desperate.

Thank you for your reply. God Bless. Stay safe, and healthy.

Understanding that depending on where you are, because of the immediate responses to our ubiquitous virus, you may be somewhat restricted in being able to get to confession.

Having said that, the internet is not the place to be asking questions; Tis_Bear is absolutely spot on.

We understand that having OCD and/or scrupulosity are a heavy burden to carry; but you only compound matters, similar to tryong to put pout your fire by spraying gasoline on it.

God Bless. Please pick a confessor, explain your problems in addition to your moral questions, and stick with them.

Thank you for the reply. I can go to confession, and have a meeting I think. On my local diocese it says in an emergency however, so I don’t know. But it doesn’t hurt to call my church tomorrow and find out, I’m just not sure anyone will be there to answer the phone. But anyway, I’m great full for your reply.

God bless. My answer is a bit harsh; but is meant to get you directed in the best direction.

Stay safe!

And it did point me in the best direction. I’m going to call my church tomorrow, about a confession, and a meeting to ask those questions I had earlier.

Thanks for the reply, God Bless. Stay safe, and healthy.

Hi 🙂 remember that no sin is so big that God can’t forgive you, God is charity and pure love. The important aspect is that you have to accept your condition of sinner (like every person) and creature of God and to confess your sins (of course when the emergency situation will finish). Also the worst sin can be forgiven if you’ll open your hearth to God. God bless you

Thanks for the advice! God bless you, stay safe and healthy.

There’s only one mortal sin according to scripture. The only moral sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit which says is not forgiven in this world or in the world to come. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is to deny the Holy Spirit his work with within you. The reason why this is unforgivable is because scripture talks about the Holy Spirit will lead you and guide you into all truth. So when you prevent the Holy Spirit from doing his job then you are not being drawn into the truth. Scripture says also that Lord works in you to will and to do his good pleasure. Sounds like you are trying to do the the Holy Spirits job for him which is blasphemy against him. You must allow the Holy Spirit to work in you to will and to do his good pleasure. You can’t expect good things to be manifested in your life until it’s worked in you first. Realize you can do anything but surrender and fall on the rock Jesus. Don’t worry about you trying to change yourself. The change must be worked in before it’s worked out of you. You can only be who you are until God the Holy Spirit changes you. What really helped me is to point at myself in the mirror and telling myself everything that the Bible or the truth tells me I am. Start speaking the truth over yourself every day until you start truly believing those things. The proof that you Truly believe those things Will be when you start having that kind of mindset and will manifest it in your everyday life. Don’t worry about what the mind thinks just feed yourself with truth and it will eventually swallow up the lies and you will become what the Bible says you are.

There is more than one mortal sin, Wikipedia says, abortion, murder, rape, and many others are mortal sins. Those are mortal sins are they not? They violate the 10 Commandments.
