Annie, with respect, I believe the poster is going to an Episcopalian church and no, he should not receive communion.
Brother Hrolf:
I’m going to have to go with you on this one. Anglican Orders were rendered Invalid by the Edwardine Ordinal of 1551 (How it accomplished that is not the subject of the thread). During the period 1940-1975, PECUSA and many other churches within the Anglican Communion fixed this using Bishops from the Old Catholic Churches with Valid Orders (the “Dutch Touch”) and a Valid Ordinal. In 1976, PECUSA started “ordaining” women to the Priesthood, and in 1982, PECUSA started “consecrating” women to the Episcopate, both in defiance of Sacrad Scripture and Holy Tradition.
That means that it can’t be said that ECUSA has been trying to do what the Catholic Church does when she ordains priests or consecrate bishops; therefore, ECUSA (Episcopalean) Orders are just as Invalid as they were when Pope Leo wrote his Encyclical.
That means that, if the Episcopal priest celebrates Mass, the Eucharist he confects will not be Valid.
So I would attend and wish the couple well, but I would not receive an Invalid “Sacrament”.
There are a couple of other reasons, but I think that one has to trump the usual, “Don’t take Communion with schismatics.”
Your Brother In Christ, Michael
