Help finding a Catholic Bible with verse cross references

I am looking for a Catholic Bible, preferably a NAB or RSV, that has within it verse cross referencing in the body of the text. I crossed the Tiber only a couple of years ago after being a life long protestant (recurring theme! in these forums). As a protestant I had some great study Bibles, like NIV or RKJV, that had cross referenced verses, multiple types of indexes, concordances (limited of course) and historical anecdotes. Their biggest short coming was their lack of pictures/photos which many Catholic Bibles excel in earnest to my great edification. I have been looking and the closest I’ve found are the Navarre Bibles and sets, but they are huge, expensive and multiple volumes! I am looking for an all-in-one Bible. The Catholic Scripture Study Bible (RSV) comes close but no verse cross references and very limited indexes, in fact how it sells itself as a “study” Bible may be a bit of a misnomer imo unless it is meant to go along with the Catholic Scripture Study International (CSSI) study program. Any help in this area would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance and God Bless.

Most NAB’s have cross-references, as well as all the RSVs (and RSV-2CE) published by Ignatius Press. You may or may not be aware that the NAB OT was recently revised. It is superior to the older version in many ways. Since its publication last year, there has been a number of quality study editions keyed to it, now refered to as the NABRE. One of the nicest is the single-column Little Rock Study Bible, which has plenty of cross-references, charts, maps, and other study helps, along with the standard NABRE notes. You have an interesting blog site, a great deal of information. I have the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible and a very page worn paper back version of the New Catholic Answer Bible (it has been on many journeys with me!). My sister, who crossed the Tiber a year before me, loves her NIV Study Bible by Zondervan and that is her source of comparison. I confess I use my NIV as a companion reference when I want more in depth verse cross referencing and indexing. Amazon has the “Look inside” feature on many of their books, but not the Little Rock Bible you mentioned. Its description sounds close, but she really does want the RSV (I do not think that it matters if is the std version or the 2CE version) and all in one Bible (i.e., containing both the OT and NT). Not to disagree with you, at least with my limited experience thus far, but I have not yet found a Catholic Study Bible that comes close to the NIV with it’s extensive in-text cross referencing and indexing that she and I have both used for years. I am content with what I use, but for my sister, I will continue to look, maybe I have to go to a larger Catholic book store in a big city to find what she is looking for.

The only version that I know that has within it verse cross referencing in the body of the text, is New Jerusalem Bible (NJB). Not the pocket edition but the large one
