Help finding a Job

Hello everyone. A joyous advent and Christmas season to you all.

As it stands I am between jobs.

I had a job position at an information company that ended in the past two weeks. I did what I could to perform well at it but I was let go (albeit in a gentle way…contract ended as opposed to fired).

I was let go because the task I had to perform was rather complicated and I did not have enough time to bring my skills up to speed for them to keep me.

I know it is just one job, but at this time I feel somewhat discouraged, sad and overwhelmed. Thoughts like “How can I find another job? Where can I find one!” keep floating in my mind.

I would dearly love some prayer requests from anyone who is able, that I may find a job that is best suited to me and that would be most conducive to doing God’s will in the world.

May God lead you to the career path that is most suitable for you, and give you the gift to always discern his will and understand his love while dealing with the situation. May your wounds be healed, so that you would be able to continue fighting and working diligently looking for a job 🙂 May he grant you all the patience, trust, faith, and love you need to go through this hardship! Through Christ our most beloved Lord. Amen.

I have also been struggling a lot with job searching and the actual job, as are some of my Catholic friends. I myself was jobless for three months, and had to work unpaid for four months not knowing when I would get paid or if I would just get fired. So I can really feel for you. Albeit, God is always looking out for us, and he has a plan. He is the master who makes extraordinary pottery, and he plans to put each and every one of them into their best possible use. We just need to keep reminding ourselves of that.

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood.
