In another thread, I am discussing a passage from the writings of John Chrysostom - we are unable to locate the actual passage though.
It is in a letter of Chrysostom to a friend of his, shortly after becoming Archbishop of Constantinople. Within the letter, he mentions the parable of the wise and faithful servant (Mt 25:45-51; Lk 12:41-48) whom the master of the house places over his household, and he connects this parable with Peter and his successors.
Anybody acquainted with this passage or have an idea of what letter it might be found in?

Sorry, I don’t know. Many of his writings are on the internet. You might be interested in the exchange of correspondence between him and the pope, and draw conclusions as to nature of their relationship from both what the letters say and do not say.

Wow! 🙂 🙂 🙂 👍 👍 👍

Thanks for this! I was blown away just by reading the first 2 paragraphs! Such insight!
I know! I’ve been reading his homilies on Matthew. They are priceless, and so relevant to us today who live in the West.

God bless,
Ut
