I have a request. It is first and foremost for your prayers for my older brother. He has been struggling for a few years now with some very serious and dark issues in his marriage. He’s been separated for almost a year now, and has been trying to choose sobriety from alcoholism. It’s been a very difficult struggle for him. He is also dealing with a very verbally and emotionally abusive wife. Her words are very destructive to those who she feels have wronged her, and I’ve experienced them personally. He has been going to AA, CODA, and staying away. After years of this abuse, however, it’s a severe wound and she is very aware and calculated with her words as she knows how to attack his self esteem. Everytime he gets a text from her, or has to speak to her (they have 2 kids) he immediately falls into despair. She also uses the access to the kids and her control to hurt him. I’ve told him to pray for her. I pray for her, and have asked several friends and family members to pray for her. I continually tell him he is made in God’s image and likeness, and how much God loves him. Do any of you know of some good scripture verses that will help him combat this serious and continual attack? Thank you and God bless.
