I’m sooo embarrassed about this, but I need help pronto. Please pray for me. I’m having
problems with my language. Put more succinctly , REALLY BAD WORDS. Not to excuse
myself, but I lost my dad ( I’m an adult), back in 2008. And now, I’m taking care of my mom.
She’s no problem, but my life hasn’t been the same. I have two older brothers ,both in their
sixties. When my mom had a medical emergency last year, they were great. But when
she came to live with me ( and now that everything has settled down) WHERE ARE THEY??! I’m the only daughter, I always knew that I would be the one to take care of
my parents, but how can my brothers let so much time pass before they call her or visit???
They’re VERY COMPLACENT. They’re willing to let me take care of everything. But
I have hate feelings towards them .I’m having a real hard time understanding or wanting
to understand their point of view. I’ve talked to them, I’ve told them how I feel. It doesn’t
matter. And because of this, I’m angry at Jesus. I keep wondering why? I’m the only one
of us three who remains a catholic, I go to Mass every Sunday, I pray the rosary everyday.
What’s up with that.?? I don’t think that I’m better than anyone. But why do they get to take it easy? Oh well, that’s my life. I have to deal with it. But please pray for me.
Thank you! Latinspeaker

I do not have any advice for you, but I will definitely keep you in my prayers 🙂

Pater noster, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur Nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo.

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae.

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum.

Amen.

I think you might want to very patiently address the issue with your brothers. Just say that you feel like they have fallen away from their responsibility to their mother and you and she would appreciate if they came to visit on occasion or perhaps took her out to dinner or something. I doubt they are both doing this deliberately, they simply haven’t taken the time to think about it that you have since they aren’t faced with it every day and have become complacent. If you talk to them and they don’t do anything than your frustrations are a bit more justified, and you will have to do your best to pray for them and forgive them for that. However if you don’t talk to them about it then you have to realize that you may be causing yourself to be burdened with an issue that could be solved with two phone calls.

May I urge you to comfort your heart and mind with Jesus’ words in Matthew 25, verses 31-46, so that you can be sure who you are really looking after when looking after your mother.
You are so privileged by God to retain your faith and faithful living-out of the Sacraments, and Jesus is patiently leading you in the way of Christlike love. It’s hard training, but an enormous grace.

“This…is what I pray before the Father from whom every family, whether spiritual or natural, takes its name: Out of His infinite glory, may He give you the power through His Spirit for your hidden self to grow strong, so that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, and then, planted in love and built on love, you will with all the saints have strength to grasp the breadth and the length, the height and the depth; until, knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond all knowledge, you are filled with the utter fullness of God.

“Glory be to Him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine; glory be to Him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3: 14-21

Lord let her forgive her brothers and family , Lord let not the anger or bitterness set in or resentment, LORD fill her with love, forgiveness and compassion and understanding. Lord give her wisdom to know what you want her to do. Lord let her be CHRISTLIKE in heart and mind and ways. Lord let her love her family all of them . Lord let her family come and help her and show love towards her . thanks LORD, in Jesus’s name, amen. Do not worry, the LORD is taking care of it, John

Trishie has taught me with such grace, such powerful lessons. My mother lives with us.I understand your hurt about the other siblings not showing as much care and concern that they could or should. As Trishie reminds us though it is OUR Privilege and an enormous grace and blessing. It may not always feel like it but we need to remember Christ in in us all.WHen we help our mother we are helping Our Lord

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,and
blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now, and
at the hour of our death.
Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen
