I have been there, I have thought about doing that…DO NOT. Please don’t. Just trust me. don’t…I’m serious. The LORD has plans for you that aren’t fulfilled yet. Get help ASAP. You’ve already taken the first step by posting here!

May my prayer for you now rise up like sweet insence to the Father…:highprayer:

I love you as a beautiful creation of love, and God loves you with a perfect love more than any of us could ever know.

sister, i have been in the hole you’re in now.

the next best thing to the hospital is suicide watch. you need to be with another person when you’re feeling this way. you say you don’t have friends – how about family? neighbors? church family? ask your husband to help you put together a list of at least 5 people you can call when you’re on the edge. if you’re perpetually thinking of suicide, you may need to actually be in the same room with someone else for a few days.

ask your husband to sign a no-suicide contract with you, and get as many as possible of the people on your list to be co-signers. sample language:

I ___________ hereby agree that I will never harm myself in any way, attempt suicide, or die by suicide.

I agree that I will take the following actions if I am ever suicidal:

A) I will remind myself that I can never, under any circumstances, attempt to harm myself, attempt suicide, or die by suicide.

B) If I am in immediate danger, I will call 911.

C) I will remind myself that any financial hardship that might result from hospitalization is far preferable to the harm that suicide would cause myself, my family and my loved ones.

D)If I have suicidal thoughts but am not in immediate danger of harming myself, I will contact any or all of the following people: (this is where you insert your list, with phone numbers and addresses or any other relevant contact info)

**1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433)

**-----

it’s very important that you refrain from seeing yourself as a burden; everyone who knows and loves you will understand that you’re ill, and they will be glad to help keep you alive and in this world.

brief details about me: attempted suicide at 21, diagnosed depressive, hospitalized a month later, hospitalized again at 27, diagnosed bi-polar, borderline personality and obsessive compulsive, declared disabled at 29… you don’t need the whole story, just know that i know whereof i speak. :yup:

finally, now that i’ve shared my vast wisdom with you,

get off the computer!

it may not feel like there’s anything else you want to do or can do, but there’s something mysteriously isolating and depressing about staring at that screen. if you’re restless, go for a walk. if you need human contact, it’s better to get it in person or on the phone.

we’re all praying/pulling for you.

psalms 42:7,8

I will add my voice to all those advising help. Don’t fear going to the hospital - they will (have to) take you and if you can’t pay, you can’t pay. I know many who have done this. No hospital is allowed to turn you away from the ER.

I add also my intense prayer to those of all the others here - and add my heart and arms to the :grouphug: . We love you, God has made you just for Himself - there is a Joanna sized place in His heart that no one else can ever fill.

Know that all our prayers will hold you up, firmly, until you can stand better and regain strength. Rest in our prayers and see, in all the posts here, God’s love and pleading not to harm yourself in any way.

This is my first post here. I was unregistered this morning, but after seeing this message, I felt I needed to give any encouragement that I could give.

Remember that this is a disease, and you should seek help. As other members have recommended, call your local suicide hot line. They will give you advice on your situation.

Always remember that God loves you, and nothing can change that. Your life may feel like nothing but suffering, but take heart, God will reward you in heaven for all of the suffering that you have experienced on earth for him. When ever you feel that things are hopeless and that God has abandoned you, remember that God has already made the ultimate sacrifice for every single one of us. The only reason he did this is because of his infinite love for us. You are in our prayers.

I’m not really any better today. Too tired to shower. Just been lying in bed. Can’t concentrate to read. But I’m still alive.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers and offers of encouragement.

I also encourage you to get help. Believe me, I understand how you feel. I’m married and the father of two kids. I lost my job, flunked out of nursing school because I’m stupid. God made a mistake in allowing me to be born. I’m only here because my wife says she needs me. I think suicide would be selfish on my part. It would be hard on her and the kids. Many times I have thought about faking an accident and taking my car into the river. I have no friends, no family except for my wife and kids. I don’t know what I’m gonna do about a job. I believe that cares for others but shows nothing but contempt for me. I feel abandoned by God.
Perhaps he does abandon some of us? I really don’t think he cares a hoot about me. To finish, I also have a son with Autism.
I have God’s curse against me. Like I said, Get some help for others I just have to hope that somehow God has Mercy.
God is merciful and He loves you. See how you can get help as soon as you can! You are not stupid, and your wife and your children need you.

A hug from all of us and from Jesus to you, Johannahw! :grouphug:

congratulations on still being alive! one day at a time, eh?

when you wake up in the morning, ask yourself “will i attempt to harm myself today?” if you can’t answer with a firm “no”, call someone.

It is saturday and I’m doing a little better emotionally this morning. At least I’m not bombarded all the time with thoughts of dying. I actually feel as though I have the energy today pull it off.
I need a lot of help. I’ve gotten involved with the mormons but want to back out. Problem is, they provide me with transporation to my many doctor appointments. They also are more than helpful with rides to and from church. When I checked the local catholic churches here in Reno, no one was willing to help out with transportation (we don’t have a car). But I’m also frustrated because I really think the RC is the true church of Christ. I’ve already quit going to the mormon church. They sure are sincere, friendly people though.
My days have no structure. I usually have little energy to do much else that watch tv and lie in bed. I feel like a slug. I feel worthless. My diabetes is out of control. I want to get back into the RCC but have no idea where to start. I don’t have access to a preist or a church. Where do I go from here. Johannah

What you need to do is just go to a Catholic Church near you and talk to someone. Talk to the priest about coming back to the Church. I’m sure you will be more than welcome.

That’s the problem, there is not one near within walking distance.

. My days are filled with loneliness and nothingness. I cry all the time. Am tired all the time.
I hear you… I have often felt the same way… Aside from the fact that you may need serious medical intervention… (only God knows… I am not much into doctors myself)… One thing that helps me is to just tune out everything but God… Not as easily done as said, i know…
I go to a quiet place, a natural setting where there is no- 1 else around (making sure to be safe, of course) and just commune with God, who is Love. He loves you no matter what your sins or shortcomings are, not matter what. He wants to restore you… He knows you wouldn’t have sin or problems (“shortcomings”,. etd) if you weren’t HUMAN and needy… & messed up by the Big Three - the world, the flesh and the devil.
I woke up depressed and BLAH today. I immediately began to pray the rosary. It lifted me up. Then later, i got “down” again. I did the same thing and snapped out of it. The rosary is a powerful reminder that this world is not the end, that things of this world aren’t as 'important" as what the devil and the world would have us think…
Also (of lesser importance), i eat chocolate. It helps because it provides seratonin… I sweeten it with honey or organic sugar. Stay away from white sugar, white flour, hydrogenated oils (which are in most processed food). Diet affects your brain. Get plenty of B vitamins (meat, poultry, brewer’s yeast).
I could say more, but i have run out of time… PM me if you want.
God bless… praying for you.

When I was 15 I attempted suicide. My family life was filled with tension and warring personalities. We were poor, white-trash poor, and I saw no relief, no future. I wanted out, any way out.
I threw up the damned pills. Who knows why…

Fast-forward 40 years. Cancer, nervous breakdown, arthritis, and a host of other challenges. Would I check out now?
Hell, no! Now I have the hope to push on. Now I have the faith to seek help. Now I have the desire to see things through.

Have courage. Stay busy. Help others. Pray - pray the Rosary, it’s a weapon against evil temptations.

Make sure your meds are monitored.

Hi Everyone,
I want to thank you all for your love and support and most of all for your prayers. I first want to tell you that I started to feel better on Monday and yesterday I even had enough energy to clean my horribly messy kitchen, much to my delight. I’ve been taking new medications (I’m at the beginning of my fourth week) and typically they both take 3 -4 weeks to take hold. I’m hoping that is what is going on with me for now and that I’ll remain stable. I believe that what saved my life over the weekend were all the prayers of others at CA. Thank you all so very much. Let’s just keep hoping and praying that I remain stable.
Johannah

Johanna,
Three years ago I suffered from a nervous breakdown that resulted from PTSD with reactive psychosis. I would have hallucinations and visions and was convinced they were real. I’ve attempted suicide twice. Thank God I survived; my poor family had to deal with all this.
I’ve been religious about taking my meds because I know if I go off them I start having suicidal thoughts again.
Prayer helps. I like the Chaplet of Divine Mercy or the Rosary.
Call your local Catholic Church and ask to contact the Catholic Daughters. Surely someone will help you.
Stay connected to life, it is precious. And keep posting!
Lissa
