I didn’t know where else to put this post so I hope it’s okay to put it here. Help. I’m bipolar and its out of control with me in deep depression. My days are filled with loneliness and nothingness. I cry all the time. Am tired all the time. Sleep is disturbed at night. I’ve been struggling with this disease of the mind for over a year now that its been out of control.I’m on meds but they are not really effective. The doctors are working on it still. But I’m tired of fighting it. All I do is think of death’s release from this body of pain and suffering. I have no friends. I’m all alone though I am married. I’m not much of a wife anymore.
Please can someone out there give me some answers?
Johannah

Please get to a hospital. You can’t control this, they need to fix your meds. I’ll be praying for you.

Please get help immediately. Your life is too precious to waste. God loves you.

Please call 911 now and get help! Since you are online, you could also visit suicide.org, but you need to get assistance NOW. Please!

Of course we’ll all pray for you here, but please, call this number, or go to the hospital immediately.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to anyone in suicidal crisis. If you need help, please dial 1-800-273-TALK (8255). You will be routed to the closest possible crisis center in your area.

Yours in Christ,

Steven

Welcome to CAF.
I just finished praying a Chaplet of Divine Mercy for you.

I am sorry for your pain. While suffering, you may offer it up.
Have you tried to get some pastoral counseling?
Keep praying, ask for God’s help and mercy.
I don’t know what else to say. Never give up. God bless!

Don’t give up. Life at times is hard, but behind each sorrow there is joy. When I get so beaten down, I hold my hand out and ask the Lord to hold my hand. Isaiah 41:13. He has always done so. Maybe not always immediately but keep holding out that hand and trust. God loves you. No matter how difficult it is, he will be there and help you through. Life is worth living!

My prayers for you - please do call the toll-free phone line.

Praying for you now for peace and calm.

Get help from your husband, neighbor, help-line, doctor, relatives, church family and friends, catholic services, diocese services, etc.

May the Holy Spirit watch over you and remain with you and give you strength. Do not be afraid - He is with you.

Dear Friends, I’m not on the verge of suicide right now. But I think of it longingly all the time. I can’t risk a trip to the hospital (where they’ll put me if I call for help) – we can’t afford it. If I get to the point where I don’t think I can keep myself alive I promise I’ll get myself to a hospital right away. It’s just that so far I’ve been able to hang on without it.
I’m sorry but I’m too tired to write much. Thanks for all your prayers.
Johannah

These thoughts are not your fault. It’s the illness. In order for you to get better you have to let your doctor know everything so he/she can get your meds right. Maybe your doctor can arrange an outpatient hospital treatment for you. Please get help now. With proper treatment you will be happy again.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton had trouble with severe depression. I’ll especially ask her prayers for you.

Prayers for you, you are a child of God, knit wonderfully in the womb. Please get help :gopray2:

Hi, johannahw,

just read what I’ve got in my signature… I’m sure God would said it to you if he was physically near you (though he nevertheless is near you!) and give you a great hug, just like we all here on the forums are giving now to you!!! -------> :grouphug:

We are all with you! Please, please, don’t give up! :console: :hug3:

We and God love you!!!

If you would like to hear it personally… I love you, Johannahw…

God too. Very, very much! Don’t give up!

I know exactly what you’re going through. I’m bipolar I, rapid cycling with generalized anxiety disorder. I’ve been in regular treatment for a year now. I used to think of suicide over 10x a day, but now it’s like 2x a week or even less.

I talked to my priest during confession and he gave me the best help. He said that if I committed suicide in my mental state that wouldn’t be sinful. But because I know that not taking my medications and not going to my appointments and things will lead to that, then those things should be confessed. Does that make sense? I am responsible for the things I’m ABLE to do, not the things I can’t control.

That thought gave me a lot of peace. Now I work on the little stuff that really makes a difference, like a regular sleep schedule, good diet, exercise, pills, appointments, etc. and try not to worry about the rest.

Try reading “The Bipolar Disorder Survival Guide.” This book helped tremendously too.

I’m praying for you.

Dear Johannah,
Please remember you are not alone, we are praying for you, and some of us understand exactly what you are going through.
I understand you might be afraid of calling the emergency services and risking being admitted to hospital, but please talk to your doctor as soon as you can. I have lost three friends to suicide due to their mental illness and it breaks my heart to hear of anyone else going through what they must have gone through.
I have suffered from depression for most of my adult life and care for a friend with bipolar disorder, who is in a depressive phase at the moment. My illness has finally, thank God, come under control with the right medication, and I pray that you too will find the right drug regime to suit you very soon. I will be online for the next hour or so, so feel free to PM me if you want.
God bless you
Pat

I also encourage you to get help. Believe me, I understand how you feel. I’m married and the father of two kids. I lost my job, flunked out of nursing school because I’m stupid. God made a mistake in allowing me to be born. I’m only here because my wife says she needs me. I think suicide would be selfish on my part. It would be hard on her and the kids. Many times I have thought about faking an accident and taking my car into the river. I have no friends, no family except for my wife and kids. I don’t know what I’m gonna do about a job. I believe that cares for others but shows nothing but contempt for me. I feel abandoned by God.
Perhaps he does abandon some of us? I really don’t think he cares a hoot about me. To finish, I also have a son with Autism.
I have God’s curse against me. Like I said, Get some help for others I just have to hope that somehow God has Mercy.

Life is a very, very precious thing which only God can take. Please don’t do this to yourself. Get help now! Talk to you husband, talk to your priest.
I’m praying for you

God made you with a purpose in mind. You are not stupid. Each of us is precious in God’s eyes. Remember if you were the only person on earth, Jesus would still die for you.

Please continue to pray and run to God’s mercy. Trust in Jesus.
In time of difficulty, you want to run to the Mercy, not run away from Him.

God bless!
